Deal Check/General Advice

,

Hi,

My current lease expires end of next month, so I am looking for a new car. My budget is within the $300 range pre-tax total. I do live in a Chicago suburb, unfortunately, so tax is high.

So far, I’ve only gone to one dealership, Subaru, and got a quote for a '24 Solterra Premium at $2500 down and $249/monthly for 36 months, with a total cost of around $318. I’ve attached the quote below.

I was really interested in the Limited trim, but they didn’t have any in stock. They did have a number of Tourings he said would be about $390/month with $2000 down, but he seemed willing to negotiate on that price. I imagine they’ve been sitting on the lot for a while.

Since these deals change monthly, I figured I would start my search next month. I plan on visiting Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, and any others that may offer a competitive lease deal. I am looking for an EV only, with my eye on the Ioniq 5/6, EV6, Ariya, etc.

I am new to this forum and leasing in general (my current lease was handled by my brother-in-law). I would appreciate any help you can provide.

Go to Wiki and read read read and learn how to use the calc.

No reason to visit anybody.

Keep checking Marketplace for east coast and make those discount levels your benchmark.

Adjust for local taxes and any changes in RV, MF and rebates in the calculator.

Make offers remotely. Get comfortable with rejection. 9 of 10 will reject your offer that’s the point. Your goal is to find the 90th percentile deal if you’re willing to make the effort.

Or hire a broker from the Marketplace

For most people it takes time to learn how to do this proficiently when starting from the beginning, and I’m sure you’re up to the task.

First fork in the road is to decide if you’d rather put in the time, or hire a broker to do this for you.

They’re both valid paths.

If you haven’t already, start by browsing Marketplace to see what’s possible, and some of the questions will begin to answer themselves.

Constructively, the very last way to do this is where you started

but as they say, the longest journey starts with the first step.

Welcome.

I’m in the midwest, and I’m only seeing current deals for Porsche and Volvo, unless I’m missing something.

Any suggestions in my area?

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is pretty cheap for the SE (Bottom Trim)
And the Ariya Evolve+ (Mid Trim) comes with EVERYTHING but leather. (MoonRoof, 360, digital mirror) for a low price on a 18m lease.

They dont need to be in your area

Use the information to construct your own deal or ship from the east coast Marketplace

So you’re saying I could get a broker to find a deal from a dealership out of state, pay the broker a fee, pay to have it shipped, and still get a better deal than I would locally? And how would I return it at the end of the lease term? I ship it back?

Absolutely… and youd return it to any dealer of that brand. Doesn’t have to go back to the originating dealer.

I guess I’ll look into it, but I want to start off with the dealers in my area. The Subaru deal didn’t seem to be that bad. The RV and MF matched the calculator. Any comment on that deal?

Relative to what? What was your benchmark?

I am looking for one as well.

Relative to the deal offered by the factory, which is $329/month. It is one of the cheaper lease deals out there for EV’s.

TBH that means nothing.

Your attached quote here is most certainly not $249/mo…

It’s $440/mo when all is said and done.

He said it was going to be $375/month, and it’s even stated in the quote. Where are you getting that figure?

Its only $375/mo because youre pre-paying the other $60/mo with your due at signing.

I don’t follow your math. This is what I’ve been doing. Let me know what I’m missing.

249 * 36 = $8964
8964 + 2500 = $11464
11464 + 1910 = $13374
13374 / 36 = $372

I’m getting roughly $372/month.

The offer sheet you attached is $375.80/mo with $2500 due at signing.
