Deal Check - Alpina B8

Is that a good deal?

California

2025 Alpina B8 ($162,675 MSRP)

39/15k lease

$5000 driveoff

$1996/mo+tax ($2150 incl. 7.75% tax) (no MSDs)*

$1898/mo+tax ($2045 incl. 7.75% tax) (with 7x refundable MSDs @ $14,350)

Alpina’s are rare and you’re not going to find a lot of datapoints, but at the very least you need to know the pre-incentive discount and what (if any) incentives are being applied.

Hard to say much without all the information.

Also on something like this I’d run the numbers on the “regular” model i.e. M850, and ask yourself if you really think it’s worth an extra $1000/mo. (or whatever) to be in the Alpina.

I don’t see any world where paying $2,300/mo effective on this car is smart or a good deal. You can get an M8 for a lot less. M850 for even cheaper. 911. Granturismo. Urus (I know, SUV). Point stands

You’re really going to drive this thing 50k miles? Feel like not many people do that in an alpina but ya prob overall not a great deal. How much does making it 39/10k help

Its the exclusivity factor that marks up the payment by another $600 - $700 per month plus the 15k mileage allotment.

Its kind of crazy where the spread between the M8 comp and the Alpina version is not as large (approx. $20k) whereas on the X7 M60i and the XB7 its a minimum $40k.

That’s because the x7 is actually a desirable car compared to the 8 series lol

Is this objectively a good deal for the car? I have no idea. Awesome car but definitely not worth that money IMO.

Thats a personal opinion :stuck_out_tongue: I am a bigger fan of the XB7 myself but just cause of the front lip and the Alpina wheels lol.

Yup. These are one of those cars that whether you lease em or you buy em, you gonna get hit with massive depreciation anyways so works out best for those looking for tax purposes.

If it is all about the Alpina and that engine, save yourself a boatload of cash and depreciation to basically get in on what in many ways is the same ride for a lot less:

If it checks out with a PPI etc. if you can swing one at your cost (if the seller will do it), and you have a good, local indy shop you can trust you would be in good shape with this as a pickup.

The price and the term is a dealbreaker IMO. It’s one thing to pay a premium to get in and out of specialty cars more frequently. To be stuck in a $86000+ rental contract is preposterous.

I see a sunroof leak on the passenger carpet. Interior seems a little beat up. Exterior is really clean. However, the N63 on this car is from when it was first introduced right ? Thats when majority of the issues came out if im not mistaken.

Yeah, but if you just want an Alpina, that engine and if a PPI is clear then that thing would be a great hoon to mess around with if bought right. Others are out there as well for sale but you have to be patient.

As far as buying or leasing a new one for what you get at that price point? For me that is a hard pass.

no one should be touching a used N63 out of warranty.

Not surprisingly, this is a simply ridiculous statement.

Is S63 any better?

I think the better question is how can you get into a B8 that’s under warranty

Here’s a CPO 2023 and a non-CPO 2022 with 11 months left per carfax. Check with someone like BMW_Dave on extending the factory warranty.

not saying this is a good deal

i just did a cpo for $1899 36/12k $1899 at signing

So $97 less monthly and $3k less due at signing for a used one and 9k less mileage allowance compared to a New unit.

Im sorry but how exactly is the OPs deal not comparable or better than yours ?

No it’s not a good deal. It’s not even an ok deal.
