Helping a friend nail down a 2023 Ford Mach E Premium AWD 36/10.5 registering in NJ
Is the MF, buy rate, think it is but not 100% sure. And should be able to get more off the MSRP? Includes XPlan no conquest. Seems like some of the guys in the Midwest were sub 400…
FMC uses an interest rate, not a money factor. Your interest rate is 1.95%. Don’t know whether it’s a buy rate or not. The dealer discount of 901 is horrible and the residual is not good. You can do much better. Suggest you explore selling prices in the NJ market area.
Yeah I was just converting it to standard MF for the calc. 48% RV I believe is currently what FMC has assigned on this model. And I believe the discount off the MSRP is only because of X Plan. So technically no discount…they are coming back to him with $19k+ in rebates though
That, and the X Plan, has nothing to do with the dealer and has everything to do with FMC as far as I know. So, you should be getting a much more favorable dealer discount. The residual is set by FMC. Not much the dealer can do about that.
Also, converting the interest rate to a money factor will only give you an estimate although it’s close.
Yeah exactly they are acting like the rebates are something they are offering to him as a “special” or something. I told him to negotiate the discount off sticker heavily THEN apply the rebates. Let’s see what they say. Not much time left in the day on the east coast.
Nope. The sales tax rate is missing which appears to be 6.50% according to my calculations. The dealer’s calculation of the gross cap is way off. The net cap is close but it’s still off by a few dollars.
You may want to get an itemization of the 533.58 capped fees. The bet here is that they are DMV fees. The 150-doc fee is paid upfront. However, it shows an upfront charge of 153. The dealer worksheet is very sloppy and carelessly done.
Here’s the problem… You’re chasing after the dealer and trying to match their numbers while allowing them to control the deal. It’s best to vet their data (interest rate, residual factor, DMV fees, tire fees, etc.) and then, create a one-page lease proposal like the one below. All numbers must be dead on accurate otherwise you lose credibility.
Yeah there should not be any taxes, its a dealer from CT so maybe they were unclear. Even though it says NJ registration. He told them to kick rocks. Hopefully can help him find something in May.
What’s somewhat interesting is that the tax was calculated in the same way that NJ calculates taxes. So, they probably were aware that it was a NJ lease but, perhaps, failed to recognize that EV’s are tax exempt in NJ.
