Deal Check: 2025 Porsche Taycan 4S

Would be grateful for some feedback on the quote below from a Los Angeles dealer. First time leasing. Long time Porsche customer. Please no judgement.

MSRP $152,905
Sales price $148,317.85 (3% discount)

39-month lease (same residual as 36 months)
5,000 miles per year (secondary vehicle)

Including 2y/20k miles service (whatever comes first)

Including wheel/tire protection plan

$7,500 Federal rebate for EV

Monthly payment:
$2,435.05 plus tax (9.5%) = $2,666.38
with $5,926.91 driveoff (first payment, registration, acquisition fee)

Residual (57%) = $87,155.85
Money Factor = 0.00390 (buy rate)

Looks pretty rough

Payment x 39 months + residual + sales tax on the residual.

Vs financing. Not sure the lease makes sense

I can get an auto loan from my bank at 5.29%. I was steered towards the lease option out of concern that EV tech is evolving so rapidly and the cars are depreciating so quickly. And I won’t want to hang onto the car for more than ~3 years.

Lease money factor is 9.36%

If you like the car so be it. But it’s not a good “deal”

I know the 25 has refresh design, but your taking a car that got delivered recently to the dealer, if you looking for a good deal your best bet is looking at 24s. Maybe you can get a 24 gts with similar payments.

Right. So basically I have to like the car enough to rent it for $104k over 3.25 years ($32k per year incl. taxes).

At the end of 39 months, your total payment will be roughly $100k+tax. Do you think this car can depreciate even more than that?

Well after 3 yrs hes gonna have $50k balance, either way doesnt make sense

How do you feel about AMG EQS? There are 3 2023s left with just days until least support ends 8/31. @oarfish18 had one advertised for about $1K a month effective, not sure if this the same red car.

PS: love mine

This is different story, 150k sticker after 3yrs is 30k lease payments. But the taycan ehhh i wouldnt jump on it. I love the taycan their beautiful i have the base model, i would imagine how 4s drives… but everytime i get in and get out i curse at myself for getting this car it sucks, due to the fact being low. Hopefully OP can take a look at other options for that kind of payments. But if thats what he wants then wish him all the best!

As in low to the ground? I have a Cayenne which is the family workhorse. Love to drive it. Need a second vehicle and the family wants an EV. Want something sporty and “low to the ground.” I’d prefer a 911 but kids will need to sit in the back with car seats every so often which is how we ended up at the Taycan.

Yes, low to the ground. But hey everyone is different maybe you have better luck getting in and out lol. Besides that car is beautiful you wont be disappointed, besides the monthly note. Dont rush into it, if you want that specific car then go for it, but take my word look at the 24s or 23s maybe you might get a higher trim for same or less monthly depending how hungry the dealers are

Make it 2 yrs and about $24K. BTW, replied to you by accident, meant @daegloe. If you haven’t driven an EQS, you’d be shocked how big it is on the inside and how huge the trunk is. And AMG is very different from 450/580.

I’m very familiar with this scenario. If this is the car that you are set on then it is what it is. Been there myself more than once. If you are asking if you should lease it because it’s a good deal or makes good financial sense then that’s a different story. I make some really good financial decisions that hopefully offset the bad ones I make usually around cars I must have.

Who would ever like a Taycan this much? Any new 911 you buy would have substantially less depreciation, aside from being a just massively better car.

You can get a 12-month CPO 4S lease for half this. And for 15k miles per year (by default) if 5k isn’t enough.

If you have 2 kids in boosters they fit in the 911

I’m trying to convince my wife of that!

IDK, my niece hates sitting in her dad’s 911. Just because a booster technically fits doesn’t mean a spouse’s begrudging consent won’t quickly turn into an ongoing roast. YMMV.

Lol please dont be that guy. Those cars are for fun, not to go to target with family. That car is someone with that is single or date night with the wife. Just imagine wanna rip it but you cant due to the kids, imagine roll down windows to hear engine, but you cant due to the air is hitting kids faces. Imagine you trying to enjoy the ride but you cant due to them kicking your sit, the other kid is crying cuz your not playing cocomelon…… 911 = FUN (no family)
