Deal Check - 2025 Ioniq 5 SEL AWD $436/mo 24/12k first month DAS

Been shopping around for EVs in the $50k-$60k range, currently trying to work a deal on a 2025 Ioniq 5 SEL AWD in northwestern PA. Financed a few cars in the past, first time leasing.

MSRP $55,225
Dealer Discount $2,079
Selling price $53,146
Lease Cash/Incentives $14,250
Tags & Fees $1,325ish
MF 0.0026
Residual $35,363

Looking like it’s at $436.41/mo with $436.41 DAS.

Tried asking for a bigger discount but he wants to see other dealers quotes before he’ll budge. MF seems higher compared to what I’ve been seeing on Edmund’s.

Check marketplace deals to compare your offer. Also, keep in mind there are better deals for other cars if you are not set on an Hyundai.

Gotcha thanks for the advice. I took a look at the pre-negotiated deals and the SEL AWD there is about the same as this. That one has a higher % off msrp and lower MF but the residual was lower.

Couldn’t find many recent SEL AWDs in the marketplace for the northeast region. I’ll keep an eye out to get a better feel for what’s out there.

Not tied to hyundai, I’ve driven the Ioniq and like the ride. I’m just trying to avoid the gm evs. Looking around at hyundai, kia, vw, volvo

You’re allowing the dealer to control the deal. You may want to consider this…

Put together a target deal first. As a data point, I helped a coworker hack this same vehicle last month, and I believe they landed on 6% discount before rebates.

Rebates wise, besides the lease cash, there was a $1000 competitive owner coupon, so check whether you qualify for that. I think there is also a $1000 aged inventory coupon floating around, but unsure there are many/any 2025s over 180days old.

Wouldn’t settle for less than 6% pre incentive + buy rate. See what that yields you in the calculator, and then change your strategy to make offers. You will likely have to call around a few, but there are plenty in Pit/Cle/Youngstown region.

Good advice. They said the competitive owner coupon is no longer active and the car’s been on the lot for just a few weeks.

I also took a look at the doc @delta737h shared and wrote up a proposal using that and targeting a 6% discount. I’ll send that offer around to other dealers in the region and see if I can get a bite

That seems high. What zip are you using for MF?

For some reason Ratefindr (and your proposal) shows a non-subvented rate.

I think it should be .0022 and 63% RV, but you may want to verify it on Edmunds or via one of the brokers. I think your target deal would look something like this:

Interesting, I was using what ratefindr and the dealer gave me. Really odd there’s only non-subvented here. I’ll go request on Edmund’s to see what’s up. The numbers with the subvented MF & residual looks way closer to what I expect
