No, it isnt. Discount isnt too great and there arent incentives, whats drawing you to the m60i over the 40i? Its not a real m.

No other dealer in the area would go more than 7% off of MSRP. I can’t change the lack of incentives.

I know it’s not a real M but I like the styling and more HP.

This is an objectively reasonable deal for an X5 M60, 7% off and buy-rate is good for the current market conditions and lack of availability.

Whether or not it’s a good lease candidate is a wholly separate issue.

Other than the 40i, is there another SUV you think I should consider?

There is no slam dunk lease candidate in the V8 Luxury SUV category that I’m aware of.

This is another ‘write a check’ car…esp if you live in the City of Chicago.

What do you mean?

Just an example of a better deal. I did put up max MSDs, but that monthly is for 12K miles a year AND end of lease wear and tear protection.

Doesnt matter that it’s not a real M, not everyone wants a stiff M suspension SUV (traded my X4MC for a M5 because M SUV’s aren’t a vibe in terms of comfort). I also chose a M60i OVER a X5MC cause I don’t need the extra HP or insurance cost of the M. And you can’t get a X5MC with an OEM tow option and air suspension. Any SUV without a V8 doesnt’ make sense to me. Thus the M60i.

That was definitely a great deal but nobody in the Chicagoland area is offering that good of a deal right now. Most dealers wouldn’t offer more than 5% off MSRP.

The vast majority of SUVs on the road don’t have v8s. An x5 with the b58(inline 6) can tow 7000 lbs. I really doubt most folks with an x5 or x7 are ever towing more than that with it.

X5 40i is perfectly “fine” but having owned an M50i for 4+ years now, the V8 power improves the overall experience significantly. It’s a noticeable difference regardless of how aggressively you’re driving. Also not just about towing (I don’t tow anything). I’m in the camp of those that don’t want a “full fat” M SUV. This is a great middle ground of power & comfort while still handling really well.

You’re not going to get a great lease deal on one since they don’t have great incentives but if you want the V8 you’ll have to get over that. Also don’t think any of the other V8 peers offer good lease deals either (GLE580, etc). Might consider buying but you’ll pay the $$ one way or another in the lease or depreciation if you buy.

Really comes down to personal preference.

If overall performance were important to me I’d start by looking at lighter, more nimble cars such as the X3 40i, SQ5, GV70, Stelvio, etc and choose lease/finance depending on the numbers.

Or EV if torque and 0-60 are most important.

It just doesn’t lease well with very low RV, low incentives and a ‘meh’ MF. Also if you live in the City there is an additional killer 9% tax on the lease payment.

I am leasing through my business to write off lease payment. I don’t live in the city. There is no markup on the MF so I don’t think I can get it lower.

Yep X5 is an ‘is what it is’ ugly lease mainly due to horrible RV along with meager incentives.

The M60i is the “best value” of the BMW X5 trims. X5M is like 130k, the 40i is 75k and the m60i is 95k. And BMW is weird in that the m60i gets cheaper options. Basically a loaded 40i is only 10k-15k from a m60i. The other thing is that the M60i is literally 99% of a X5M for 75% of the price lol. It’s got the same engine (but slightly detuned), can be optioned with same suspension, etc. I think an X5M is leasing for like 2k right now compared to an M60i

All those cars that you recommended are slower, weaker and smaller. (and in the case of the x3 m40i, a lot less comfortable)

@Scratchy, the best cars in this segment is the Porsche Cayenne (GTS to be comparable to a M60i), SQ7, and the GLE63. Overall, I think BMW wins but, you should check out the SQ7. I know @IAC_Scott was doing pretty good on SQ7s and he tried to get me into one but my simping for BMW won out.

I was able to get a dealer up to 7.5% off MSRP but nothing more in the Chicagoland area.
