Howdy hackrs! Been lurking around the site for few months and now may be the time for my first lease. Looking for input on how far I can / should push this deal, pls.
I almost signed a one pay Q8 etron sportback P+ 1 yr lease this week, but after a test drive it was just too boring, floaty, and the tech sucked.
My target lease deal(s) for a '24 Kia EV6 GT that I’ve offered about 25 Kia dealers in the southeast today (1/10/25):
Offer #1 - $0 DAS, $400/month (all taxes & fees included), 24/10
Offer #2 - $2k DAS, $330/month (all taxes & fees included), 24/10
Offer #3 - one pay of $9,300 (all taxes & fees included), 24/10
Below is the best offer from a dealer in NC, so far:
I’m not taking this deal. Need them to drop the selling price by $2.5 - $3k, and if they don’t, I’ll just wait until they or some other dealer does. I’m in no rush to do this either. Just want a fun car to run around town in. Multiple dealers have these listed for > $20k off MSRP and still can’t sell them, wild!!
Thanks @CoastalMotorGroup! $1k should be DAS and that’s it, at least that’s what we talked about. Yeah, couldn’t tell what that $2495 was. So it sounds like their calcs on the left are off ($500) compared to your calc ($616). If this dealer continues to play ball, I’ll ask them to adjust or explain.
@Jon you’re correct! The 2k DAS should have a target payment of $310 instead of $330. Updated and will share this w/ dealers going forward. Not sure how I missed that
Got another Kia dealer in AR to play ball now with a demo car that has 2k miles. We’re almost at $400/month with $0 DAS Will share an updated calc if we finalize.
I’m new to leasing, i didn’t realize that a person could make lease offers like this, is this normal for all manufacturers? I too am looking for an EV6 GT, so this thead is timely for me.
I was new as well and it’s your money. So you make an offer and keep looking until you find someone that will do what you want, if you’re willing to call around or go out of your area to drive / ship it back.
Also, this dealer in Arkansas said… people here aren’t buying EVs, they want their good old gas cars. That was the main reason that this car was sitting there for a year and I’d imagine that other dealers in this part of the country could be in a similar boat.
