Hello, first time posting. I’m being offered a deal of $389/month for 36months/10k miles on a Prologue AWD Touring. All fees and taxes are included in the payment. Only thing DAS is first month payment. Is this a good deal?
is this a demo car or new one? do u have the MSRP on it? what rebates/ incentives were provided?
Its a new one. MSRP is 56500
Incentives are totaling 12k and dealer discount on MSRP is about 10k.
It’s a decent deal but depending on how taxes are treated in your state, you may have more room for negotiation. Plugging your numbers, with a 10k discount and 13.5k incentives (7.5k ev, 6k honda lease cash), you get an effective monthly payment of $250. Factor in the govt. fees/sales tax and see how the final number stacks up with what the dealer is quoting.
look for posts on the Chevy blazer which is the same car see what those go for
Same car but dealerships are different, i doubt i could use those as comparables
Residual Value changes, money factor changes, and for others, it’s also possible for incentive amounts to be different for 24 vs 36
Do you have a target deal in mind? Simply getting quotes may not be that helpful, if you don’t have a strong idea of a decent deal already in mind.
The RV is actually 55% for 24months vs 49% for 36 months, thats probably why.
I cannot find any signed deals in IL for this vehicle. Not many deals at all on this forum for IL unfortunately.
Assuming the deals you’re seeing don’t have state-specific rebates, it can still give you an idea of what a strong pre-incentive discount might be so that you can create your own deal in the calculator to then offer to dealers (rather than the other way around).
Other deals I’m seeing in different states are very similar, so i am confident this deal is right up there with others posted on this forum. I did punch in the numbers in the LH calculator (although IL tax doesn’t really add up) and it came very close ($375/month) to what i am getting. The score indicated something like 13.5 years
I took delivery last week of my AWD Touring with towing package. MSRP was 56500. The hitch and wiring with bumper was never added to sticker. Vehicle was discounted down to 51k. Was able to use conquest and Honda loyalty as I also own a GM vehicle and Honda Accord.
Lease terms 24 months, 10k mikes per year, $0 down, $0 out of pocket at signing with all fees rolled into the remaining 23 payments. 100% sign and drive. $340/month. $7,820 total out of pocket for lease term.
Lease was from a regional Honda dealer in the metro Detroit market.
IL leases tax taxes (see this thread ).
You’ll need to find effective tax rate by doing r / (1 - r)
where r is the tax rate. OP lives in Suburban cook county so r is 8.25%, which yield effective tax rate of 8.999%. Also, IL leases taxes even the registraion fees.
Now that’s a great deal! congrats! 5 dealers I’ve talked to so far, nobody is going that low. $379 for 24mths $0 due at signing is best i can do.
Honestly, that’s a pretty good deal. Midwest sucks. You’re pretty much on your own. Couldn’t find a good deal on the Prologue and ended up with a Hornet. If it were me I’d try to chip away at it, shop that offer around, or go in with, “if you could do $XXX, I’ll come by today”
That’s probably the best you’re going get in IL. I called several Ohio, indiana, and Illinois dealerships and cross shopped them against the deal I given, before I took delivery. The 2nd best deal was $455 for the same exact vehicle, and it didn’t include the tow package. If you’d like to upgrade to an Elite AWD, my dealer has 1 left at $426, same 24/10k $0 money down terms. I think they discounted it s bit more since last week so it’s probably going to lease a little less now. For me the elite wasnt worth the $85 more month payment
Wow what a difference for the elite. Best price for that trim i got today was $680
I’ll ask the same thing the other person asked. Any reason you are not entertaining a Blazer instead of Prologue?
