Courtesy loaner discount

Hi all, general question. I’m looking at a loaner for lease with only 1k miles on it. How much should be discounted, and would it be off the MSRP? The RV?The manufacturer has an incentive for loaners.

Is there a general rate or calculation used for loaner discounts? I didn’t find anything in the Leasing 101 section. Thanks.

Which brand?

Really depends on the brand, model, programs, and availability.

Oh so there’s not really a standard or formula? This would be for Cadillac. But I was wondering in general, across all brands.

Curious since people here seem to want loaners, etc for additional $ off

30% nothing less. Jk

You can go to Signed Deals & Tips and see what’s others got and base it off that.

What exact model are you looking for?

Which model?

If you’re looking for a LYRIQ loaner here is a post with several I sampled from Feb (including my own).

There is no standard discount for different models within a specific brand, and no specific standard discount for loaners across brands.

And not all OEMs lease loaners, and most adjust the residual to penalize for the loaners miles at acquisition.

It’s a Vistiq. Looks like 10% off MSRP is common for brand new, what should it be for a loaner?

Some dealerships already take off a discount on their online price for loaners. Do you then try to negotiate % off MSRP BEFORE the dealer discount? Thanks for the help.

Yes! Final Price=MSRP×(1−d). D represents whatever you’d like. It usually works for me.

Loaner is just a fancy name for a used car. Treat it as such and consult the usual sources (Manheim, Black book) to understand market value at its current mileage, or what price the dealer would have to settle for to move it wholesale.

Although you’re technically correct, no dealer I’ve ever contacted would get close to Black Book pricing.

Most of the recent SIGNED! Vistiqs are 10% off MSRP but are demos/loaners. There’s one non-demo from January at 8% off. I’d shoot for 15% and be happy if you settle at 10% depending on the specifics of the car in question. I signed at 10% off at the end of Feb for a loaner with 5k miles and there was a little meat left on the bone. Today’s probably the day to get a great deal with it being the end of the month/quarter.
