Common Courtesy Goes a Long Way

This thread will long pass, and anonymity, at least on here, will hide the user. This does not change who he is IRL. I hope he takes a minute to reflect. One time deal or not, be stand up, and have just an ounce of compassion for others.

I was hoping to discuss what I eat for lunch here. But anyways, I’ve seen some killer deals on loaner Bimmers from @legendsauto. Despite one really bad apple, I hope he keeps sharing them with us. I still have 33 months left on my Tiguan lease, but I was so tempted to lease the 320i and park it across the street so my wife wouldn’t notice it. But then she would probably think that I had a younger girlfriend that went along with it.

Your wish has come true…

Wow, what an ordeal. Isn’t that sales though? You win some and lose some, then move on. Yes, the buyer should have at least notified the OP on his or her next steps, but I am struggling with the OP’s rant here. Is there a reasonable expectation of loyalty in the world of trying get the best deal? I mean who hasn’t taken another dealer’s quote to another dealer to get the best price and/or experience. Maybe the buyer was located closer to this dealer in question. Although I’ve driven hours for good lease deals. Maybe the dealer offered other types of benefits like BMW swag, etc.

Hiring a broker and taking his quote to his dealer is not the same as shopping a quote from one dealer to others.
I also think the guy asked the dealer to beat that quote by a few bucks, but settled on matching it.

Sad thing is, he’ll probably come back on here with a new username the next time he’s interested in a lease, and probably won’t hesitate to do the same thing again, and no one will be any the wiser.

I wonder if a paid subscription to this site would increase quality? Or linking it to social media account like FB?

I can create a fake FB account in 30 seconds that has nothing to do with me personally.

I agree with @Ursus, I think the guy took the quote to the dealer to squeeze out any broker fee but then just settled for the offer once he was there already.

That does suck. If he got the same thing, why even bother? With that deal and me not having to talk to anyone, I would gladly use you. I live in Orange County so hope you are close because I am starting to shop for that same car.

New users especially are here for a number, that’s it. I have people messaging me for 30% off of loaners that have been in inventory for 3 days with 1,000 miles on it. This site takes more time than benefits for me at this point, because no matter what even if you give the deal they ask for they still shop it, another places takes off $3, and they go with the deal. Not even here for the business anymore at this point, because it takes more time than it’s worth.

I’ve said this before…one of the downsides of this website is the fact that people (especially newbies) get unrealistic expectations on discounts after seeing one guy score the unicorn 28% off a demo 5er. They then don’t understand you can’t just walk in off the street and do the same thing. ā€œHey, I saw this on Leasehackr, can you match it?ā€

There’s a lot of good information here, don’t get me wrong, but there’s a lot of misconception and unrealistic expectations also.

There should be a ā€œHall of Fameā€ section for the best deals that are no longer going to happen so we can use it as a reference. $100 i3’s, $300 90k f types, $350 scat pack’s, $200 Tundras. A lot of people on the site are here to actually make this a legitimate source of information, but seeing the same car posted 50 times asking ā€œis this a good dealā€ is nuts it devalues the site as a whole.

And guess what’s gonna happen when new users go straight to that section? LOL

Lock the post, Alfa’s are no longer $300. Date it, lock it, we move on.

They WILL come to you and others asking for the same deal

When I try to think of a good descriptor for this forum, the ā€œWild Westā€ comes to mind.

The data is indexed in a social format, making it tough to figure out.

Sellers deals, are buried in 3000+ posts in the marketplace.

Typical lazy peeps looking for a fast answer take the quickest route to ā€œis this a good dealā€ questions on threads, if they even figure out how to start a thread on their own.

I wish there was a more efficient way to distribute the information on this site, but I am at a loss on how they would even begin to do this.

With that said, if you are willing to put in the work, and figure out the lease, this forum is a treasure trove of information, and you have a very strong chance of nailing an excellent deal.

It is really unfortunate, as this place is a treasure trove of information, but the format, makes getting the most out of it, time consuming.

"This is the best deal that was offered on Alfa Romeo’s In August of 2018 this is NOT ABLE TO BE REPLICATED due to the increase is residual value, decrease in lease support, and increase in money factor. This is to be used as a guide and not be referenced as a duplication guide. " etc etc.

We obviously know the answer to why things chance, but the 40 min read time user does not.

Yep, I got tore to shit for not posting what I paid on my lease. No matter how you try to explain it, they don’t care, just want that price and or better.
