Do you feel like the engine is capable for LA’s merging freeway speed? I just learned that the Preferred FWD model is using the older engine which has less power.
My coworker has the preferred FWD and i just test drove it and stopped on the gas and yep, it is good enough to merge imo. Way better than my prius lol.
Yes I do. Believe me I drive my Encore 90 miles (round-trip) of LA freeway every day. I know all about freeway merging. Mostly what I do on LA freeways though is roll-up and stop, roll-up and stop.
Drive the Encore and make your own assessment. It’s certainly not a rocket like my 330 horsepower Camaro.
What I like about the Encore is that it’s very comfortable to sit in 2-3 hours every day. More so than many other cars I’ve owned. And it has lots of electronic gadgets to keep you amused on those LA parking lots they call freeways.
I see, I’ll look into the ad see what I need to qualify that $119 monthly deal. hopefully not much.
You’ll need a documented competitor lease in your household, and good credit. Without those expect to pay a bit more.
yea… I wonder if there’s extra incentives for recent grads.
Is anyone doing a deal like this in Florida?
If you show this to a dealer in your area, they may match. I used this in Nocal , knowing this pricing was coming from Simpson SoCal dealer.
Did they match it after all?
NoCal dealer came back with $113 with Encore, & $139 Terrain in writing. Before driving to dealership asked for actual quote ( I have both an existing BMW and GM lease so they have my financial in formation) to no time was wasted. They dealership mgr then responded they needed to charge $1,200 Encore & $1,400 Terrain. So short answer they thought they beat, then backtracked. You will see my earlier postings in this thread. The Sales mgt at Simpson is great, wish they were in NoCal. They told me to waite for this pricing to come out. I may go back to the local NoCal dealer reluctantly, but only if they can min match Simpson.
yea that’s a big no go for $1200 due at sign. Don’t get why can’t they match it. since Simpson also giving $3000 rebate
I have gone back to the NoCal dealer to shame them into honoring their earlier pricing without drive-off. If I have an update, will post it.
whats a good price for the $27,790 preferred II model?
If a $25,625 is o down 0 drive off and $119 plus tax per month, whats the best deal for $27,790?
Holy moly. That’s some smoking deal.
I know right I wonder what they will do with those 17s Enclave with dated interior people will be rather getting the MDX if they will not show any competitive lease offers
From Simpson, 24mo/15k is 143 plus tax. And $0 due too. Which is pretty nice already. NorCal dealers want something like $2000 down and DMV, blah blah blah fee… then finally big logo says $69 a month24mo/10k) also required to have $3000 non GM lease rebate or else put extra $3000 down! What a bunch of rubbish! How can they get away with that?
I visited 2 other dealers with the same deal I got above and they couldn’t even match it. I guess it’s really coming down to how eager a particular dealership is on selling a car
Do you mind to share which 2 dealership is it that can’t match?
Howard and Woody Buick in the Chicagoland area
My simple math goes like this…
Step 1) $27790 - $25625 = $2165 difference in MSRP
Step 2) $2165(1 - residual value(.65)) = $758 (that’s the delta depreciation for the higher MSRP car)
Step 3) $758/24 months ==> $32 per month extra
Maybe add in a dollar extra a month for MF finance charge on the delta MSRP.
So my ballpark price would be around $119 + $32 + $1 ==> $152/month for the $27,790 preferred II model Encore. See if you can get them to something like that price ($152/month 10k/24month)
