I’d be very surprised if the 23s came out with increased range or other significant differences as the LCIs will arrive closer to 2024 here in the US.
GIven that, a $2k bump is not insignificant.
I also have one on order here in Socal and I highly doubt dealers will be offering discounts to the 22s given the bump and the fact that they could probably turn around and sell your cancelled order above sticker.
However, if there are any dealers out there proving me wrong, please speak up!
If your deposit is refundable see if you can get a discount from another dealer. It won’t be much so big picture it won’t make a huge difference. 1K is the best discount I’ve been able to negotiate so far. I was about to go on vacation, so I didn’t try to force a deal at a higher discount. I figured if it was still available a week later I would have better odds at getting a bigger discount but it sold.
I thought that the LCI production is supposed to start in April so first deliveries maybe in June? And if they start offering some incentives in 2023 that 2K price increase should not impact the value of the 2022 model.
I seen some 45e owners getting a range extender flash tune that unlocks more of the battery. Owners are seeing 60+ miles of electric range. Something I would consider if I got a 45e.
Are we talking about the LCI though? Not sure what’s the situation here. Heard that after 2023 LCI it’s gonna be called 50e and have the 750e drivetrain. That feels like more than 2k of price increase
Maybe get the LCI in calendar 2022 at MSRP if that’s possible. Last BBB bill the $7500 tax credit was slated to be slashed in favor of cars built in the US by union labor. Unlikely a revised BBB bill will pass next year but not sure what the tax credit situation will be next calendar year.
