BMW X5 45e Plug-In Hybrid deals

I’d be very surprised if the 23s came out with increased range or other significant differences as the LCIs will arrive closer to 2024 here in the US.
GIven that, a $2k bump is not insignificant.

I also have one on order here in Socal and I highly doubt dealers will be offering discounts to the 22s given the bump and the fact that they could probably turn around and sell your cancelled order above sticker.

However, if there are any dealers out there proving me wrong, please speak up! :grinning:

If your deposit is refundable see if you can get a discount from another dealer. It won’t be much so big picture it won’t make a huge difference. 1K is the best discount I’ve been able to negotiate so far. I was about to go on vacation, so I didn’t try to force a deal at a higher discount. I figured if it was still available a week later I would have better odds at getting a bigger discount but it sold.

I thought that the LCI production is supposed to start in April so first deliveries maybe in June? And if they start offering some incentives in 2023 that 2K price increase should not impact the value of the 2022 model.

June is possible for LCI but I’d just say Q3-Q4 to be safe.

As for me, I’ll just hold onto my 2022 order rather than wait for 2023 MY incentives if any.

I seen some 45e owners getting a range extender flash tune that unlocks more of the battery. Owners are seeing 60+ miles of electric range. Something I would consider if I got a 45e.

All models got a msrp increase of some sort for MY23 production.

A lot of options across the board got increases as well, will probably add another $1k+ to most builds.

Are we talking about the LCI though? Not sure what’s the situation here. Heard that after 2023 LCI it’s gonna be called 50e and have the 750e drivetrain. That feels like more than 2k of price increase

LCI won’t be discounted for a good while.

Maybe get the LCI in calendar 2022 at MSRP if that’s possible. Last BBB bill the $7500 tax credit was slated to be slashed in favor of cars built in the US by union labor. Unlikely a revised BBB bill will pass next year but not sure what the tax credit situation will be next calendar year.

Where are you seeing this? My biggest concern was the 30-mi range, my RT commute is about 60mi

It’s a tune by mission tuning.

You can do euro spec (50 or so miles) or maximum (60 or so miles)

Obviously this will void your battery warranty if they find it so ymmv. You can flash it back to stock whenever you bring it in for service.

Since every EV/PHEV battery fire recall for every brand has included changes to the charging firmware, without the test plan for this

There’s voiding the warranty and needing to replace a turbo out of pocket, vs burning your house down and having to pay that out of pocket.

I may or may not be ok minimizing my tax liability, but I am definitely not ok taking a risk with my European car’s warranty…

Yeah, it’s definitely a risk. Nice to have the option, imo.

Apparently, the euro spec car has the same battery pack as the US spec, just has a smaller usable capacity due to the battery warranties here.

I wonder if they would make a similar tune for the 3/530e.

My 530e range actually dropped from 15mi to 8-9 mi per charge after the last service…

I noticed a 2 mile drop at full recently in the GOM. Still did 28mi from full to empty mixed driving.

This is the x5e?

Mom’s 330e.

How does the allocation goes? Is it on a rotation basis from one region to the next region?
