I’ve read that once the 200k limit is announced you have 6 months before the next phases amount is released. So hypothetically if come June 2023 they announce that the x5 45e has hit the 200k limit you’ll still get the full $7,500 till end of yr.

If Toyota does in fact reach the 200,000 vehicle limit by the end of June, the phase-out would gradually occur over the course of a year. The credits initially continue at full value until the second quarter after the 200k threshold is reached, then half value for six months, followed by one-quarter value for an additional six months. Here’s a rough timeline of the phase-out should Toyota’s June 2022 estimate be correct:

Please do share your dealer contact; I am in the market for a 45e. Thanks.
Guys for everyone who’s interested in the dealer info, to keep it clean for everyone else just pm me. I will share with everyone who’s sent me a pm, but I may need another day. That dealer is not the fastest with their responses, but on the plus side a second dealer may have entered the race. Still doing some back and forth with both.
It’s the dealer in Cali
Does anyone buy any of the add-ons or warranties the finance guy tries to sell you?
Just tire and wheel generally since RFT’s are pricey.
330e in the family recently had a sidewall puncture and wheel damage due to road debris and was covered for a $350 tire and $200 wheel repair.
Two incidents like that and you’re just about even against buying the coverage (at the right price, of course)
Alright, all I pulled the trigger. Got my x5 45e for MSRP + $1,000 BMW loyalty rebate + $750 CA clean air rebate + I will be able to use the $1,000 BMW CCA rebate and got them to throw in all-weather floor mats and a t-shirt.
End-of-year EV tax credit: $7500
100% depreciation write off
Question for the group. What charging setup should I get at home? The charger the vehicle comes with plugged into 120 v. is laughably slow.
Congrats there should be lots of suggestions on charging setup here. If your utility has time of use charging for EV you should look into it.
Make sure you adjust the charging limit to 10A (by default it will be set to 6A) and the level 1 EVSE that comes with the car will charge a little bit faster. However, the best solution is to get a portable level 2 EVSE on Amazon if you have a NEMA 14-50 plug in your garage. The X5 can only charge at 16A max so you can buy a 16A one for $200 or less but I would recommend buying at least 32A (40A would be even better) for using the EVSE on EVs in the future.
14-30 will work too.
I got the https://www.costco.com/juicebox-40-amp-electric-vehicle-charging-station-with-nema%2C-20-ft-cable.product.100574926.html[JuiceBox 40 from Costco]
Our 45e is in production now, hearing 30+ days from the dealer until delivery. Also interested in the garage charging set up. First plug in car so nothing in the garage yet. Going to call the electrician in a few weeks to run a standalone outlet in the garage. That juicebox got the top spot from cnet so that’s high on my list now. anything else I should be checking out? Noob here!!!
If you want a smart charger, I would go with the JuiceBox unless you want to future proof beyond 40amps. It works great for my X5 45e (16 AMP) and the wife’s Rav-4 PRIME (32 AMP). We will be able to use the full 40 if I get my Lightning reservation materializes.
Love the build you selected!
Didn’t want a “Smart” charger, just needed a robust, dependable one.
Cars come with all the features (charging status, amperage, scheduling etc.) that these smart chargers offer so I would suggest everyone not to waste any extra money on them. Also would advise against the fixed boxes since you cannot take them with you if you are moving (or visiting somewhere with a compatible level 2 plug) so buy one of these:

I have been using these for over 2 years and they work perfectly fine…
That’s fancy. I just repurposed a jumper cable.
