Can you guys check this post out, trying to get some help on a deal as well? for an x2. Here’s the link. Since it’s related to an X2 thought I can get some more advice, since you guys know what you’re doing. Thanks Help Rate This Deal: 2018 BMW X2 XDrive 28i Loaner
Yours looks in line with good deals on this car. You’re getting about 14% off before incentives, though I’m not clear which ones you are getting. Maybe you could get a bit more by contacting other dealerships and seeing if they can beat that discount (without necessarily mentioning the rest).
Only thing is to verify what money factor you’re getting and then see if you can use MSD’s.
I had a dealer offer me 440 on a sign and drive for an X2 loaner this week. It’s a better first deal than the others were giving me, but still not something I’d jump at. Another dealer quoted me 650, refusing to apply incentives. I see so many of these listed online that you would think dealers would be trying to move them more aggressively. We’ll see what happens at the end of the month.
Take a private jet to NYC and sign one of the deals up here. It will still be cheaper than this. HOLY CRAP!
I just signed on a new 2018 X2 lease, yesterday…had 28 miles on it, nav, convenience pkg and added the tire/wheel package on ($1000 that is well spent in my area) and had them do tint and lifetime of nitro in tires…and I am $387 12/36 and my DAS was $3200…I’m not sure how great the deal was, but I am happy with it. It can be done.
Please tell me $3k of that DAS was MSDs and not CCR. X2 leases are SO good right now that this wouldn’t make sense without the bulk of those dues being MSD. Otherwise I might have a bridge to sell you
1200 of it was the tire protection that with our potholes I needed…1200 or so was the TTL…and 950 doc/acquisition fee I didn’t roll in.
Like I mentioned, not sure how ‘great’ my deal was, but all in all, i feel okay with it. I didn’t do MSDs, it just didn’t bump it down enough to make sense to me.
Why would you put $3k+ down and not do msd’s, doesn’t make a whole lot a sense. $1200 for a tire protection package is steep and nitro fill is a scam. Wonder what MF they used
I mean no offense at all, but I’m not sure I follow your logic here – MSDs would save you at least like $500 over the 2 years, whereas your $3k upfront isn’t really doing anything for you.
A big mistake you made here was you went for a 24 month agreement without waiving the acquisition fee in lieu of the bumped MF, that you could then buy back down with MSDs. That’s the 24mo strategy on BMW right now. Otherwise, it makes no sense to go for 24 months.
Edit - my mistake. This was a 36mo lease.
To break this down in its simplest terms:
Not including your $1,200 wheel package, you’re basically paying an effective $462+tax on an X2 which is absolutely crazy. Including the wheel package, you’re over $500+tax. You literally could have gotten 2 X2s for that price (I know this because I negotiated 2 last week for $250+tax with $0 DAS except MSDs), so this is mind boggling to me.
I am 12/36…not 24. No offense taken. I am paying $327.47…and it wasn’t a loaner and I paid ttl, tires, etc.
I just saw where my first post said $387, a typo…I’m $347 for 12/36…and my leasehackr calculator score was 9. something (I have it saved on my iPad)…but I think it was 9.9 or 9.6? It wasn’t a fabulous deal, but I do think it was decent. I also have some BMWCCA money coming.
Just corrected my post above. I think I got threads crossed and thought you were on a 24mo term! Apologies.
The $347 over a 36 month term helps my heart palpitations! While not a great deal exactly, that effectively puts you in the low $400s rather than where I thought you were at. The kickback from CCA will certainly help as well.
I still do think you’ll look back on this one a little bit disappointed, but this isn’t nearly as bad as I initially thought with my 24mo assumption and your $387 typo!
My total payment is $347…does that help your heart more? I wondered if the threads got crossed. No worries! It wasn’t a fantastic deal, but it was okay for a first run at one…especially in my area… I wanted to be at 11 years on my score, but when I got to almost 10, I felt fairly good. Next time I will have even more knowledge and confidence!
For sure and next time you’ll have loyalty
I had loyalty on this one, too…I had $5950 in loyalty and incentives, before the BMWCCA…
Well now you’re just making me eat my words…
Hahaa, I didn’t give many details when responding to the OP…just that deals could be done and a brief outline (with a big typo) of what I had just done…you didn’t have the facts, and were trying to help…had I done a deal like you thought I had, I would’ve needed major help! I do think I will employ a broker next time.
What part of the country are you in? I’ve had to call no deal in ATL and Nashville.
I’m in Texas.
