They didn’t pick up steam because they only raised incentives for May when X1 stop sale began and then dropped them again. It’s a great car but I think if it’d been cooked up on a G chassis instead with LCP/iD7 it would have done better. 
And it’s the exact same argument as to why wagons and hybrids don’t sell. They don’t sell because the incentives SUCK and they price them too high. They’re priced too high because no-one buys them and around and around we go until it’s gets cancelled.

Ya think? A lauded (legendary, even?) RWD chassis may have yielded a better vehicle than a badge-engineered MINI?
