I’m new to this forum but I’ve been reading threads for a few days. I’m also currently comparing a BMW m340i xdrive and a KIA Stinger GTS AWD and would like to go for the better deal. Below is what I got so far:
I think both are quoted high and I have been trying to bring down the monthly payment around 1% MSRP before tax. But the more I tried to negotiate on the discount and MF the dealer seems more irritated in some way. I live in western PA. Is it particularly harder for some places to spot a good deal than places like SoCal (most good deals I saw on this forum)?
The thing is most deals I have seen on this forum are perfect 1% examples. The quotes I got are not even close to any m340i or Stinger post that I found.
Are they 1% with money down or with no money down? On a 15k or 7500 mile lease? 24 or 36 months? With loyalty or without?
There are a million variables in a lease that will make the payments vary wildly, and the whole 1% rule nonsense doesn’t involve any of them. It’s a horrible way to evaluate a lease. Sure, sometimes a good deal is around 1%, but that’s because of how everything else lines up and is purely coincidental.
Cast a wide net, lots of dealers for both Kia and BMW in the NE. As far as cars go I for one would choose the M340 all the way. If your are looking for an alt I’d say the G70 has a closer mix of refinement and power (same engine as Stinger GT2). For the M340 target 10-12 % off before incentives. Good luck
When it comes time for service would you rather deal with a Kia dealer or BMW dealer? That should really help decide. Also you’ll get 500 rebate if you sign up for BMW CCA.
Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately I haven’t done business with a Kia dealer or a BMW dealer so I have little clue. I am working with dealerships around your area ;).
I have a contact at P&W if you need it. Difference would be shopping at TJ Max and Nordstrom. Take your pick. Get a BMW and join the Allegheny chapter of the car club.
I personally would be marginally inclined to bmw too given the brand, interior etc but there are more for me to take into account… I know my initial question was kinda stupid because there is a 10k+ difference in price between these two cars. I have considered G70, but the look of the Stinger GTS is way much better…
Stinger is a kia. Congrats if you pick the stinger…it’s a 600 dollar Kia. The m340 should be minimum 10 percent off prior to rebates. Ppl are getting 12 on here. As for ur problem, either the dealer sucks…you suck…or both. When that’s the case easiest solution is a broker in here
It’s hard to compare, because those are both terrible deals.
I’ll tell you to look for a stinger GT1/GT2 over the GTS, they lease much better due to not being a “rarity” like the GTS (unless your set on the orange color). A 10% dealer discount with buy rate money factor should put you at a <$500 payment with just drive offs for a 36/10k.
Thanks for the advice! 100% agree with the GT1/GT2 but the GTS orange was the reason I thought about throwing money on a 50k Kia… Finally decided to walk away because it’s a 50k Kia… Plus dealers wont even do 520/mo + 1500 drive off
Yeah, its unfortunate. This forum should be filled with good Stinger deals (like even a 10% discount gets you there), but finding a dealer that doesn’t act like Stingers are Lambo’s is like finding a pot of gold. I’m scared to start my hunt for K900’s in the coming months, since I know they’re gonna covet them like Rolls Royce Phantom’s.
