Just received an email that Thermal CA M track days got cancelled 6-8 December. What a Bummer…
That truly is a shame. I attended two BMW track events over the summer. They were exceptionally great in terms of covid protocols. Probably shut down as part of a CA mandate…
CA going into shelter-in-place
makes sense non-essential activities are being cancelled…
Monticello registration for October 2021 is open as of this AM and the full day slots are already nearly gone!

Here’s to hoping the office can get my registration from last year moved over before it fills up entirely! Plenty of half days still open!
Edit: Lol ofc it’s sold out as soon as they called me
Edit 2: They called back and gave me a half day registration and a refund for the rest I had paid. Unfortunate that I missed the full day again, but I’ll take it and that’s reasonable IMO. Anyone going on the 16/17th?
was planning on attending the full day as well but fully booked out. On the waitlist but lets see what happens
Thinking of doing the full day to take advantage of the drift school. Any TRISTATE LH’ers wanna join ?
Did my first track day with the i4 M50 two weeks ago. It was fun.
M track day in NY MMC is back in August. Thinking of doin the half day for $625. Anyone have recommendations or tips for this one?
Register ASAP or the slots will be filled.
Did it today, man was so cool. So impressive what these cars are capable of. Thank you for the bump which got me to register
I’ll be there Monday!
Which car was the best?
M3 was incredible to me and think has limits far beyond what I am capable of. So extremely solid , obviously my skill level is very low but while pushing what felt like extremely hard for me it handled it incredibly and basically asked for more.
Extremely eye opening what you can do with these cars on a track, how much force you can generate and how much grip they have.
Just did it this weekend as well. Was awesome.
M3 was my favorite too. The other two events were meh.
time to order a m3 in laguna seca blue then
Was this event eligible for an OL code? Is bmw still doing those?
This is the most LH thing posted in this thread.
Anyone going to the BMW Villa for Monterey Car Week? M5 touring reveal… and we’ll see what else

I have about 10 hpde/track days under my belt and I would have a hard time plunking down a grand for such limited actual track time. But if you’re just looking to scratch an itch sure, go for it. You will have a blast.
I did a bunch of these including the more expensive 2 day M school. HPDEs if you don’t have a sports car are tough to access. Even with a car you’re easily going to plunk down a grand or more between fees, insurance, consumables and lodging if needed. The M track days are fun and usually nicely appointed for meals and other activities and it’s nice to take someone else’s M car out on a skid pad. Can’t easily practice power sliding during a dealership test drive.
