And you can get the M seats in leather (Castanea or Amido) new bolsters and extended seat bottom and all, which is the pic he showed. But 4FM is what his build is, not the pic he showed.
The dark color you show are the base M seats (M Sport Black Sensatec/Atlas Grey Microfiber). They’re optionally wrapped in either leather.
Yes. Your pic shows 4MA with Castanea, but your build is 4FM. If you click the build link I posted, then look at the interior, you’ll see the old seats (4FM). What the config shows as an example is not always correct or even the same car model (see the second pic for DAPP - that’s not even an iX!). To get the new M seats with better bolstering/seat bottom you need 4MA which only comes with M Sport Pkg (ZMP). Don’t make $100k mistake.
Were these named after George “can’t stand ya” Costanza?
after 8k miles and 0 launch control and <10 full throttle, both my rear tires are at 5/32, front is fine at 8/32
Checked BMW website says must be >= 4/32 when return, guess I need a new set now
I know EV eats tires, but didn’t expect 8k miles.
better start tire rotation every 3 month
Which tires? I got about 30K miles out of the 21" Goodyears before switching over to the Hankook ION EVOs which are like 100x better tires… Wish I would have done it sooner.
In other news, the buyout on my 2024 IX is $66K; Meanwhile trade offers are coming in at $48K on a MMR of $50K. #nowayout
What model Goodyears did you have on for the 30K miles? Are the Hankooks better as far as mileage/wear go?
Probably because the dealership I went to never did a tire rotation
20’’ Goodyear I think, got a set of bridgestone 20’’ for like 300 bucks, so quieter now… gonna do rotation every 3 months from now
BMW doesn’t recommend tire rotations or at least doesn’t say it’s needed, but with the way the rears are chewed up it’s probably a good idea.
I got to 18000 miles and had 4/32 on fronts and 1.75/32 on rears (lol). I had checked them a few months ago but there was uneven wear where some of the grooves were “taller” than others.
These were on 21 michelin primacy’s.
On a 30k mile iX lease will almost certainly need at least one tire change. When depends on whether to get a new set or get a serviceable set from eBay if available.
Got a '26 iX x45 with M Sport and 20" Nexens as a loaner. Surprised how harsh the ride is over bad roads. Not even remotely close to my AMG EQS sedan. Also basic seats lack lumbar support and side bolster adjustment - surprising for a car pushing 6 digits.
Another unpleasant surprise - had hard time finding the right position for the driver’s side mirror (seems a bit undersized?) and then got all kinds of glare and reflections from the diagonal metallic trim on the inside.
Side note: have both MBZ and BMW in the shop concurrently and my garage stinks like a bottom of an ashtray from two loaners.
How much of a difference does air suspension make? I guess it usually comes with bigger wheels right? How about m60?
Comparing suspension performance of a sedan to a SUV is not quite apples to apples. IX does have to deal with a higher center of gravity. But I also find your conclusion true comparing IX to EQS SUV. The IX rides much stiffer. Which may also be unfair, because my EQS has air suspension (and rear wheel steering), but if that’s what it takes, it should be standard on the IX.
OTOH, when it comes to seating the EQS is clearly leaps and bounds more comfortable. The IX seats are quite disappointing for a BMW. I was hoping the new 2026 M-Sport seating made improvements but doesn’t sound very promising.
True, but then so is comparing AMG to what is supposed to be a softer riding vehicle. Curious how’s iX m60 over the rough pavement? Didn’t get to drive i5 m60s over any really poor roads but it seemed much smoother than this iX in my limited experience with all of them. Had two I5 m60s for limited stints, one had Dynamic Handling Package.
Returned the loaner today and spoke with a Genius re harsh suspension. He immediately started nodding his head in agreement and said that the store is already regretting not getting more cars with air suspension or even DHP. Apparently, a lot of people complain about it. He said that IX m60 rides and handles much better.
they gated the air ride behind the ix60 – I think before you could get air ride on the base trim
Yep Ix rides like
