The BMW system is called ā€œTravel and Comfortā€ – You can decide for yourself if it’s affordable.

https://www.getbmwparts.com/c-travel-comfort-system-15

That remote parking part of parking assistant professional package.

Allows remote control maneuvering via BMW app.

I’d take a ball tap before buying oem versions of that. Need to find the third party versions.

I got the garment hangar ā€œthrown inā€ as I was driving off the lot. It’s actually quite nice.

Since I have no kids, I have no need for the iPad holder but I wouldn’t think twice to pick one up if I needed it.

I have 2 issues and am wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing:

  1. My iX seems to turn on the air conditioning after I’ve left the car and locked the door. I know there is a setting you can manually turn on if someone is staying in the car and you want to leave the ac running. However, my understanding (also confirmed with a BMW Genius) is that it has to manually be turned on every time…there is no setting to have it turn on automatically. It’s annoying because i) it’s wasting the battery and ii) the car is sometimes freezing cold when I get back in to drive it.

  2. Most of the time when I get in the car, the driver settings do not automatically adjust. It registers me as a Guest instead of using my profile. I have to accept the system waiver, go to the main screen, select Driver Profiles, select the Profile, then wait 5-10 seconds while it adjusts to my settings. I don’t know why it’s not recognizing the key (or my phone) as a saved profile.

Anyone else have these issues? I want to bring it to the dealer but I’m guessing these may be the types of issues where they are unable to figure out the cause (and will just reset the system)

I promise, what you are hearing is NOT the air conditioning. It’s the fan trying to cool down the batteries. You can just ignore it. It will shut off automatically after 10-15 minutes once the batteries have cooled down.

You just need to link your BMW ID to your key. If you navigate to the iDrive BMW ID app, you can select your primary profile and then set ā€˜Link Key’ and assign to your key. The key maybe an NFC credit card, Apple Watch, iPhone/Android Phone, or one/both of the key fobs. There’s much flexibility as to which ā€œkeyā€ will unlock which profile. This is handle if you have multiple people in yoru house too, so they can get their own profile when they unlock with their ā€œkeyā€.

Doesn’t sound like there is anything wrong from what I’ve read here!

Same as EQE with battery fan

My Pacifica Hybrid does this too. Normal plug in behavior.

That would not explain the car interior being way colder than ambient temperature

Correct. The issue is that the a/c turns on and stays on after turning off the car.

The key has been linked…I am the primary user. And the settings are all correct. Sometimes it works properly. Most of the time, it does not. The only other possibility I can think of is that my physical key is linked to my profile but I also have mobile key set up on my phone. I wonder if the car is pairing with the mobile key before it ā€œseesā€ the physical key. I believe you can only attach one ā€œkeyā€ to your driver profile. Is that correct?

That sounds very strange. If you look at the MyBMW app does it show the AC running in there too? Does it mention anything about ā€œPre-Conditioning Cabinā€ in the app?

If you have ā€œPre-condition Before Departureā€ set, it’ll run the both the HVAC and battery fans to try to achieve the desired temperature.

If you haven’t already, did you consider posting this question on one of the dedicated iX online forums? There are lots of expert users there that can probably help you! BMW iX Discussions - BMW i Forums

I would not trust what the app indicates, especially since things are glitching. I’m on my 3rd PHEV now, and the BMW app, while usually correct, has given me false info at least monthly. Mostly it’s the charging status/state, but sometimes it’s other data that’s off.

In this case, my hypothesis is that there’s nothing wrong with the car, and instead, OP has ā€œPre-condition for departure timeā€ set in the MyBMW app. That is what is triggering the cooling to seemingly occur mysteriously after they shut the car down.

Try as I might it seems I can’t code the nag screen to stop appearing every time I start the car.

If anyone knows of something please share.

Yes, the app shows that the ac is running and I can manually turn it off through the app.

As described, the a/c turns on when I turn OFF the car…the time of day has no bearing on when this occurs. I also confirmed that my preconditioning is off.

Good idea. I will give that a try.

Hey folks, I’m relatively new to EVs so hoping one of you can tell me the answer.

I used the electrify America charger near me. I used the bmw app to start it. Today I clicked on charge statistics and it shows a total cost of $10.57. Is this all covered by the bmw plan or did I do something wrong?

Also where do you all see how efficient your usage is?

Charging statistics, in the BMW app, lets you track how much each charging session would cost. This is more of a budgeting tool, it’s not an indication of what you were actually billed. It’s most useful to track home charging costs because you can put in your local utility rate. For EA, you can see actual billing by navigating to Charging → Electrify America → Manage My Plan → Charging History.

For per trip efficiency, as an example you can navigate to My Trips → All trips and then select a trip.

I must be a complete goober but My Trips doesn’t show anything for me. I’m either not opening the right thing or is this some sort of setting I need to turn on?

You need to allow the tracking in your car.
