BMW 320i Lease for $220 x 36 months, Should I pull the trigger?

Hi Guys,

This is a 320i BMW demo with 4,800 miles for $220 + Tax. MSRP is $35,000 and sale price is $27,500 for 36 months and 10k miles a year. Upfront they want $4,000 (including 7 MSD totaling $1,750, tag, acq fee and their crazy dealer fee of $850) which I still need to negotiate as I can only give upfront my security deposit and registration and tag ~$2200. How far should I keep negotiating? What should I aim for?

Should I pull the trigger? It is not my favorite color -white- and I would love to have more equipment. MY idea was to get a series 5, but seems out of my budget. Any advice is appreciated.

I wouldn’t. I don’t like white either. And not even a backup camera?
That’s ~$300 with 0 drive off I think.

I wouldn’t settle. Get the car you want or wait a little longer until the holiday incentives roll out.

Negotiate 1k off more and find out the residual

My problem is that my old car doesn’t start, and I need a car. However, I hate to act with desperation or pressure. How does the residual affect the equation? A new car has a residual of 66%. I tried to negotiate based on purchase price and putting the numbers in the calculator of the site. My goal was to get to $220 and they agreed, but it seems they have still more room to go down. I need to find out how to keep them going down in price. In terms of colors, they also can get me a black one with pretty much the same milage. Black is also not my top choice, but its not bad. Believe it or not I called to several dealerships and nobody was even close (closest was $30,500). I just want to know what you guys consider a deal that I cant refuse.

220 for demo 320 seems very fair. Id take it in white, since black is so hard to keep clean.

You could tell them I’ll sign today for $220 including tax and only the security deposits and registration fees due at signing.

Make sure you really like the car and not just the deal on the car.

I second that. 220 is a great deal. Get them to eat the other “fees”

Someone posted they got a 528i for 250. (see 528i thread). So based, on that, I don’t think 220 for 320i is fair lol

Well, lets wait and see on the other deal as I dont have idea how he will pay $250 with a purchase price of $46k. Quick update; I stopped by the dealership yesterday to test drive the car and negotiate. I was a little disappointed with the interior of the car as it didnt have any equipment at all, only bluetooth. After the test drive I tried to negotiate $1,200 down and to get to $220 tax included. The salesman was really nice, but he went to another manager (as the one who negotiated with me the first time was off). The manager came to talk to me in a rude and arrogant manner saying not a dollar less. I said thanks and waked away. What do you think guys, should I come back or start looking somewhere else? It wasn’t easy to find a deal like this in my area. I also tested the 528 and was obviously better, but I dont think I can get was for less than $350. Any thoughts?

If a BMW is a MUST for you, even a bare bones demo base model with almost 6K miles on it - then go for it. Or, if you really needed a new car, you could go for a fully loaded Civic for the same money

Don’t worry. The dealer will give you a call back.

I was able to get a 320i xdrive (CPO elite), power heated seats, moonroof, nav with sat radio 36month @10K a year. 7 MSD, taxes, acquisition, doc upfront $190 a month.

you can lease used cars?

They are loaner cars that arent titled. But yes you can lease a certified pre owned car, more than likely the numbers wont make sense though.

are they usually listed on the dealers website?

they usually are, again, depends on the dealer. Some dealers will list the car online but wont tell you its a loaner until you get there.

Yup. You can lease the certified pre-owned owned 2016 models. But it’s up to your preference. Some want a brand new car, others like myself just want the best deal and don’t mind having a used loaner car.
But be mindful of the miles on the car. Every miles over 500MI lowers the residual by 25 cents.

You can check my spreadsheet I made to do some calculations.

I flew from Chicago to Denver to get the cars.

Jason you are my hero, can you provide more details sbout your deal? Can you revommend the dealership and agent? I am about to say no to my deal because I dont love the car, was your car a demo with how many miles? Any advice is appreciatted. Thanks

Post some numbers please. Sales price, mileage, year, original msrp. That’s a great deal by the way.
