Best high mileage lease for small-mid EV SUV

For three years of $600/mo you can buy many lightly used EVs with all their EV parts under warranty for at least those three years.

Hard pass buying an EV. I don’t care. Why buy when lease is almost the same price if not cheaper.

That’s my point, at 20k miles per year it’s not necessarily cheaper. And EVs don’t turn into a pumpkin 3 years in.

Edit: see here where somebody with your same use case bought a new Equinox EV at a good rate:

If you are leasing at the highest commonly available program mileage option (15k/yr) you need to consider that you will be paying effectively around 100/mo extra over the course of your lease if you end up using 20k miles per year, maybe a little less if you prepay miles or possibly a little more if the finance company charges a higher mileage rate than 25 cents/mile. You also need to consider that the “great” deals we usually see around here are almost always using the 10k mileage term, 15k can be considerably more per month, those residual points add up, especially on short term 24 month leases where the rebates really get to work their magic. If you need a high mileage car and you are chasing the lowest possible payment for such a thing you also need to consider the fact that you will be paying inceptions, taxes and possibly even disposition fees every two years or so if you don’t stay loyal to a particular brand. Cheap EV leases can get expensive pretty quickly going this route.

There are no BMWs in that price range.

I understand the argument. It’s just not happening in my scenario. There’s no need to do it with my lifestyle, possible changes, etc.

Also, I’m not necessarily looking for “the cheapest/best” deal. It’s what fits my lifestyle for my budget…just means I’m not hugely picky on car and deal.

Also there’s a million variables over the next 2-3 years. I don’t want to deal with those variables. I can always buy new in 2-3 years if I choose.

For high mileage situations, I would look to a used balloon loan over a new lease. Take advantage of the huge depreciation and find a slightly used EV, like an EQS SUV or BMW IX. You can get mileage allotments up to 18K and excess is only $0.10 per mile.
