Best 8 passenger Luxury SUV deal

Yes and no…at the same time most Americans just want to drive literal land yachts for the least amount of money lol

QX80 seems to be easily the best value for a large SUV lease. Would I pay $100k to buy one? Good lord no. But $770/month to lease it. Sure. It just crushes all other lux brands and probably some non-lux too.

Best x7 deal I found was ~$900 (inc PA tax) for a demo w 14k miles on it. Gross… MB is tough without loyalty. XC90 might be an option but I think the qx80 is a step above.

Those leases are assets on the balance sheet so someone will definitely buy them.

What no one wants is their liabilities and they’d rather cherry pick the best pieces of the carcass

XC90 and QX80 are not even the same class of SUV size wise. I don’t consider XC90 “Full Size”

Yeah I agree – but it can fit 7/8 and is a better price point than some others. More akin to the q7, tho. If you need a barge, xc90 aint it.

Lexus TX.

Aside from the QX80 these all lease terribly so if you’re going to buy something, buy the one from the best value-retaining brand.

TX while spacious is a bit smaller than the Yukon/qx80/wagoneer class. But definitely comparable to X7,GLS

Everyone has different needs, particularly the size/shape of people who will regularly sit in the third row.

But I will say that I see people often mistakenly assuming that all BOF (body of frame) SUVs offer the most space inside because of how large they look on the outside. For example the LR Def 130 has less interior volume behind the front seats than a midsize unibody like a Palisade.

And legroom stats don’t tell the whole story. How high the floor is can be a big determining factor in how comfortable the third row is. One reason being a high floor makes people sit with their knees high, putting pressure on the back and other parts. For people with larger feet, having to cram them under a really tight space between the floor and second row seat is another.

Toyota Sienna or Honda Odyssey? :grinning:

I refuse to ride in the 3rd row of any SUV for more than short ride. I’ll take the comfort of the front seat of my GLE any day over being cramped in someone’s back seat. Also, when I’m ready to leave I’m not beholden to anyone else.

Probably get a Sienna, super reliable and retaining value

If you go luxe trim can even be 600s. Possibly 5. W full msds outside of NY.

True. Also trunk space behind the 3rd row is important but usually overlooked.

Minivans are the obvious, utilitarian, smart money choice - unfortunately there’s only 1 option with AWD and imho the engine feels underpowered and the build quality of the Sienna is reflective of a typical Toyota (it’ll never feel like a Lexus or any other premium brand). The kia has a fantastic interior/features for the price on the other hand, but can’t beat the Sienna resale value.

Also trunk space while equivalent to a long wheel base SUV is really vertically oriented - so you need to be able to stack things on top of each other which isn’t always practical.
