Best 50kish 3row SUV w/ 2nd row Capt Chairs

I can sell a XC90 63k msrp wih captains chairs for 60k. The lease works out to be in the 700s with 0 down.

Unless you need a lot of space, CX-9 is your best option. You can’t beat the signature trim at this price range.

Having had a CX9 and a Palisade, the CX9 isn’t even in the same league, and that’s before factoring in all the issues that mine had.

I’m on my third CX-9 and getting my fourth. Never had issues. Mazda is the most reliable manufacturer in most studies.

How often are you using the 3rd row? I had the Santa Fe previously and moving stuff around and flipping up the 3rd row got old. Fast.

I’m also in the minivan camp, really cannot beat the space and comfort compared to anything else. I finally convinced the wife that a minivan would be the best for us and she finally relented. Chrysler PacHy is my daily driver and I love driving it. Wife drives a CX-9. Both have captains in the 2nd row.

CX-9 is probably the worst in terms of space and packaging for a 3rd row, but it was the cheapest at the time and way under MSRP. Despite the space “issues”, it drives well, is very quiet, and quick enough to get out of its’ own way with the turbo.

Exactly. The CX9 isn’t a 3 row suv. It’s a 2 row suv with obstructions in the already useless cargo area.

That’s my issue with Mazdas. Nice cars with substandard space utilization and a frustrating infotainment system (at least for CarPlay users).

Back in 2019, we like the way the CX-5 drove the best, but it was a Tucson sized SUV at a Santa Fe price point. We ultimately went with a Tiguan which was closer to being a Santa Fe sized SUV at Tucson price point (kind of). We’ve even used the 3rd row in the Tiguan twice (for short drives anyway).
