And the loving caress of a short-term lease with the Autonation logo in the header.

It’s not a lease! It is a mobility program!

Did none of the MBAs in the room google what “mobility” means in the automotive world?

Not terrible if you’re just looking for a short term lease, like you’re in the military and have to deploy in 1 year. The high residual vehicles like the Wrangler 4XE in SoCal has descent deals. Obviously a 3 year lease using a broker is much better.

I’d microlease different cars (esp EVs) just to see how they are as long as the payment is reasonable.

That’s effectively $686 which is not only a lot for this vehicle but a 1-year commitment sounds like the opposite of mobility to me.

I suspect their target market is people who are too commitment-phobic to even do a traditional lease.

Agreed, but for people who don’t know leasehackr, that’s still a great price on a Sport 4XE

There are smaller/regional startups with better pricing. My buddy pays for $500/m for a Wrangler 4DR soft top including insurance and tax with no commitment.

More info please.

K now that I’m looking at he neglected to mention it’s more depending on how much you drive

The effective monthly looks crazy high when you add the fees, monthly rent and miles together, for boring cars, unless I’m missing something?

If you are in the military, you can cancel a lease with no penalty if you get orders to relocate overseas during the lease period.

Now that we talking about this
What if you roll a ton of negative equity? Or take a lease transfer?

Yeah either he neglected to mention that part or the plans were different when he signed up.

Seems like this is targeted towards city people who drive very little and would have very high insurance on their own and/or are very commitment phobic.

I think this looks like an interesting program. I prefer short term leases but acq fees, dealer fees, and taxes usually make them cost prohibitive. I hope they expand the program to other states.

Didn’t Volvo, Porsche and Ford just all try this stunt a year or so ago with the flexible ‘choose any car’ lease program? And now they are all defunct.

Porsche basically ran out of cars lol.
