Short term lease are a nice niche product. I assume SoCal and FL areas have a lot of snow birds who could avail of this, or foreigners who need transportation. That being said only a year… would be better if you could get less then that.
Well, seems like Autonation folded the program anyways so it’s moot but they had (for a time) some really nice vehicles in there at one point. Here in CA they had some BMW ///M products along with Porsche, Mercedes and Audi of various flavors.
Personally I hate being stuck in a vehicle and, were it not for the stupid “use tax” on used goods (aka govt-double-dip-on-every-vehicle-transaction) I’d simply buy and sell at leisure. Unfortunately unless you live in a no-sales-tax state, this makes sampling various cars a very tax-intensive choice.
Either way, the program folded so folks like me are in a minority on this
