Audi Q8 Etron deal check

These were the final numbers after dust settled: seems like a good deal, not amazing or unicorn by any stretch so probably replicable.

Will post to signed if any of you wizards can help; Q8e is not even listed on drop-down menu yet.

That’s a good thing. I will trade you my EQS for your Q8 in a second.

Don’t tempt me! With insurance, it’s just a 1k a month EV Macan wannabe.

Car Insurances rates are Regional, Driver age and Record.
Hard to compare with some one else what they paying.
Sure Allstate paying a lot on advertising in NFL…someone has to eat that bill…

And I have to pay for all claims made and natural disasters in my state! Premium went up 30% last year and agent said was because of too many claims, haven’t made a claim in years I told her! A ton of companies have packed up and left Cali.

Required to carry it, only a few companies offer it so no need to be as competitive, such a racket.

Edit: Yes, everything you say is correct. Just wasn’t expecting insurance to be almost half of the lease payment! Tried to get quote online wouldn’t accept VIN, called and got reasonable quote, went to activate, ‘oops that was for gas Q8, car is so new have to enter info manually’. They even asked me for the curb weight! Guess doesn’t pay to be new car on the block.

Also assume these higher rates will result in an even higher number of uninsured drivers. This resulting in even higher rates. To your point with the lack of competition it will be interesting how this plays out.

Also on an expensive EV try raising your deductibles to at least 1k. Going from 500 to 1k saved like 800 a year so it was a complete no brainer.

I always go for max deductible, even wanted to go higher than 1k but not even an option.

Maybe I just need to figure out what zip codes are cheaper for insurance. If cheap enough, time to start packing!

I am in Midwest and all Insurance rates gone high this year, Auto and home.
My Agent told me that in CA its State farm or Farmer exiting the mkt because on each $1 intake in CA they spending $1.25, not a good business model. As per CA law they were not allowed to raised rates for last 4 years. See Florida few big names already exit the state.
Try National General its an All state Company. I recently moved and actually my Insurance went down 20%. 2019 Q8 & 2018 VW GTI, 4 drivers, 2 young, $750 for 6 months. Clear record no tickets for last 10 years.

Thx, will give em a shot. I know Esurance is now out of Ca and is/was an Allstate company.

Edit: National General ‘not available in my area’

No company has ever come close to my Costco policy through Connect/Ameriprise. but my rate is a bundled discount with home insurance so YMMV.

Not available in CA any longer for new clients sadly…

Quality deal, did you opt for audicare or anything?

No Audi Care, just felt ridiculous to pay for maintenance when it’s included with virtually every other brand including others in VW Group-verse. Prob cost me more in the end unless I can figure out how to do maintenance outside of dealership.

if you haven’t fully signed, audicare bumps the residual 1% and should only cost 999, so you end up paying like less than 200 for the 3 years of maintenance. Though there isn’t much to worry about on the etron, i think it ends up just covering a battery fluid flush and other minor stuff, you don’t lose out majorly by not having it, but generally a good idea on any audi

Signed already, when I was quoted it bumped monthly about $30, asked about residual bump and she confirmed it was there but $30×36 seems just about full price plus the interest. In reality prob only need 2 services since low mileage lease. Maybe they will offer it again when I set up account online. If not, just have to pay as I go.

I got quoted a P car (79k) and P+ (82k) for 36 mo 7,500 miles $9k rebates and 9 MSD for $656 and $700/mo including NY taxes in payment and $2,900 DAS.

Yeah I have costco too on my Q5e - it is amazing, I am paying like 2100 per year for 3 cars total (Q5e, BMW and a minivan) - maybe it will g up next year who knows, but for now I am happy

Nice, I got quoted 850/month for a 92K prestige  36/10k, I didn’t take it but I know its a great deal haha. I just have too many cars to manage and i’d rather take the iX over the q8 etron
