I guess nobody has crystal balls and mods were too quick to close my original post.

So it goes… happy e-tron hunting for the next two weeks (or more)…

Good looking out, muchas gracias.

I can’t confirm this . It still says sept 30th expiration on Costcoauto.com

Exactly what I thought! I got the same E-mail. Happy E-Tron shopping all!

You Have to get your Authorization code by the end of tonight . That has not been extended

This probably just shows my ignorance and I’m happy to admit it…

But… if I were in the market for an etron, to BUY ,

I would rather pay sticker for a 2021 model

than pay the 10% discount on a 2019 and or 2020 for that matter

(given that the 2021s are starting at a roughly 10% lower starting msrp).

When you lose Costco discount and lease support, the 2019s I would think would be hard to move.

What’s to stop someone from requesting an authorization code on every vehicle and then waiting for the best deal until 10/15?

You do you. But that’s a terrible strategy for anyone else.

Some cars are worth buying over leasing. Not overpriced EVs with resale curves that look like the last movements of the Titanic.

Anyone in the market for an Etron should definitely look into leasing one if they have Costco and loyalty

Is there confirmation that the program has been extended? I called Costco Auto and was told that the program is indeed ending today. Would love the extension though i’m a few days away from closing my Re-Fi and need the extra time to get my e-tron.

You are completely right.

I wouldn’t buy either, I’d lease the one with the best overall profile (discount, incentives, rebates, mf/residual) whether it’s a 19, 20 or 21).

I was just generally asking for all the customers that are buying, and all they see is cost and model year, I would think those people would lean towards the 2021 and thus less buyer market for the 2019s.

Again, just my thought process and probably wrong.

All your thread proved (yet again) is that “predicting the future” threads are a waste of everyone’s time. Don’t take it personally. They have all been closed before.

I 100% agree . But there are only 278 cars left nationwide with only 78 of them in CA .

I seriously doubt Audi will put any crazy marketing allowances on MY21s for a while

Think I read somewhere here that the new lower starting MSRP is just a lower trim level… so P+ and Prestige are not 10% lower MSRP in 2021.

So as long as i have my code its good till the 15th?

Honestly I don’t know but ill find out

Thank you.

Ultimately, you exercise your rights with your wallet.

However, buying a 1st generation vehicle is not the best decision as Audi and their OE suppliers/engineers are learning along the way on how to improve the builds. Any type of battery begins to degrade as soon as they are installed- since it’s one of the most expensive parts on an EV- and with the improvements in battery technologies each year- I wouldn’t want to be an “owner”. Leasing for 2-3 years makes sense to me.

True 2021 eTrons start at lower price point, but that’s with the introduction of the Premium line which is not as well equipped as the current Premium Plus and Prestige packages. Those prices remain unchanged in pricing. True- with 2021, you get better range- however, hopefully a forthcoming SW update will give 2019 owners similar improvements- available black optics.

If that’s worth paying MSRP for, by all means- the dealerships will welcome your business.

However- most of us who participate in this forum are looking for a “lease hack/deal”. Paying MSRP imo doesn’t fit either criteria.

Costco 10% off MSRP, perhaps addition 2%+ discount, $7500 Audi Lease Cash, $7500/$9500 dealer marketing allowance (in LA area), $2000 Audi Loyalty. Coupled with global pandemic- conditions for this deal just happened to work out.

Of course it is extended. As discussed in another thread, there will be additional incentives / discounts coming for 2019 Etron - just wait a bit …
