Is there confirmation that the program has been extended? I called Costco Auto and was told that the program is indeed ending today. Would love the extension though i’m a few days away from closing my Re-Fi and need the extra time to get my e-tron.
I wouldn’t buy either, I’d lease the one with the best overall profile (discount, incentives, rebates, mf/residual) whether it’s a 19, 20 or 21).
I was just generally asking for all the customers that are buying, and all they see is cost and model year, I would think those people would lean towards the 2021 and thus less buyer market for the 2019s.
Again, just my thought process and probably wrong.
All your thread proved (yet again) is that “predicting the future” threads are a waste of everyone’s time. Don’t take it personally. They have all been closed before.
Ultimately, you exercise your rights with your wallet.
However, buying a 1st generation vehicle is not the best decision as Audi and their OE suppliers/engineers are learning along the way on how to improve the builds. Any type of battery begins to degrade as soon as they are installed- since it’s one of the most expensive parts on an EV- and with the improvements in battery technologies each year- I wouldn’t want to be an “owner”. Leasing for 2-3 years makes sense to me.
True 2021 eTrons start at lower price point, but that’s with the introduction of the Premium line which is not as well equipped as the current Premium Plus and Prestige packages. Those prices remain unchanged in pricing. True- with 2021, you get better range- however, hopefully a forthcoming SW update will give 2019 owners similar improvements- available black optics.
If that’s worth paying MSRP for, by all means- the dealerships will welcome your business.
However- most of us who participate in this forum are looking for a “lease hack/deal”. Paying MSRP imo doesn’t fit either criteria.
Costco 10% off MSRP, perhaps addition 2%+ discount, $7500 Audi Lease Cash, $7500/$9500 dealer marketing allowance (in LA area), $2000 Audi Loyalty. Coupled with global pandemic- conditions for this deal just happened to work out.
