Are there compact SUV lease deals for less than $250/month?

Hi All, I have been lurking quite awhile and finally decided to reach out for some advice. My wife and I (we reside in Northern Virginia) currently lease two Honda vehicles (both are 12k/39mo leases), a 2016 Honda CRV LX FWD and a 2015 Honda Civic LX. We paid $275.00/mo (with $750.00 down) for the CR-V and $199.00 (with $0.00 down) for the Civic. At the time I did not know about this site and realize now that Honda’s simply don’t lease well, particularly the CRV.

My wife and I are now expecting our second child and for the next leases we would like to have two compact SUV’s that would give us a bit more space. Our current leases end in later March 2019. We could also extend the lease month to month if necessary. We stopped by the Honda dealership we have dealt with for awhile now, and they are offering $299.00 per month each for 2019 Honda CR-V LX FWD vehicles with just the first month’s payment due at signing. I contacted the sales rep for a copy of the lease specs and will post them once I get them, but I am not blown away by this offer.

I also visited a Toyota dealer today who offered $325.00 per month each for two 2019 Toyota RAV4’s FWD LE. Once again, I’ve contacted the sales rep for a copy of the lease specs.

My question to all of you is if there are any compact SUV’s out there that consistently lease below $300.00, and even possibly $250.00 per month with $0 due at signing? We are thinking of also looking into the Ford Escape, Chevy Equinox, and Hyundai Tucson, but are open to other makes/models as well. I have read about some good deals to be had with the Equinox on this site. My wife and I are not looking for a bunch of bells and whistles, just a compact SUV that will get us from point A to point B during the lifetime of the lease for a good price. Any insight you all could provide would be most helpful. We’d be looking at a 12k/36mo term (or could do 24month as well).

Also, as I had mentioned, we can extend our current leases for awhile if there is an optimal month for when the best deals on compact SUV’s are generally offered. Thanks for reading and look forward to your advice.

PS - The reason we looked at Honda again is I’d like to try and avoid the $350.00x2 disposition fees, but if switching makes the most sense dollars wise then we are all for that.

equinox and terrain come to mind, depending on what rebates you qualify. Also the Buick encore has had some good leases in the past around March time.
Also if you can find 2018 leftover CRVs you can get that prob in the mid $200s. If you search the site the 2018 CRV EX-L could be had for around $300 so i’m guessing a lower trim version would be in your price range and avoid the dispo fee.

What state are you located in?

Hi 305, we are located in Virginia. We are also a short drive to Maryland and DC. Thanks for the information about the 2018 CRV’s. I’ll take a look. I’ll also do some research on the Terrain, Equinox, and Encore. Thanks!

In VA you’re faced with higher taxes for leases than in the majority of other states where only the monthly payment gets taxed so i’m not sure how that would factor into your scenario.

No way I would touch Encore with two kids. My mom has one and trunk space almost doest exist. Especially is you would need a double stroller.

Thanks for the advice Lvs. We have a Buick dealer nearby so I’ll stop by there soon with our strollers in hand to see how much trunk space there is.

If you pay your tax and tags up front I can have you in a 2019 RAV4 le awd for $278

If he pays taxes upfront he has a bunch of options as already mentioned

Are you looking for 0 out of pocket, or are you considering paying taxes/fees upfront?

Check Outback/Forester out at Stohlman. You can get a very good deal on the '19 Outback now. I just got 14.5% + another $500 from the manager without negotiation on a 3.6 LTD today. You should be able to be under $300/mo with only first month on the lower 2.5i trim. And you would probably want an AWD with kids.

Thank you everyone for the rapid responses! All of this information is great. I would prefer to keep it 0 out of pocket.
Ursus, is that the dealership in Sterling? I can stop by there tomorrow.
Jrouleau, I’ll send you a message shortly for more specifics.
Thanks again everyone! I’m soaking all of this advice in.

Sterling will do, they can pull cars from Tysons, if you like one from there. Just check the web site and pick a few that you like.

I have my 3rd on the way and were thinking of compact SUV for more room but to be honest, Most mid-size sedans have a larger interior and more trunk space. They have the illusion of being bigger because they are higher off the ground but dont actually give more space.

yea but is it as “hip” as driving suv? lol…it’s fashionable to be in an suv these days

I think doing two cars at once should score you a much much better deal than the price of $299 on a Honda CR-V LX FWD. People are getting the CRV EX-L for a tad over $300…I would try and seal a deal at $250 with nothing due at signing!!!

I’d recommend waiting till March to see if GM offers their Asian Conquest again. You could get a great deal on a Chevy Equinox. Buying two at once is great leverage too, take advantage of that.

not necessarily

completely arbitrary number and unrealistic, especially given his tax situation in VA

Mazda CX-3s or CX-5s come to mind.

Jeep Compass should be achievable around $200 per month

Thank you once again, everyone! I really appreciate the advice. My wife and I are scheduling test drives with a few of the vehicles mentioned here. I plan on visiting a few dealerships on Wednesday and Thursday to see if any last minute deals can be had. I’m going to check out the Jeep Compass now. If not, we will wait until March to see if any intriguing incentives pop up. Thank you again!
