Acura NSX deals! $30k rebate and big discounts

I believe in California, you have to pay sales tax on the rebate amount. So for $30,000, that would be a tax of almost $3,000 in a high tax area like Los Angeles.

Acura Thousand Oaks has two NSX’s in stock. I recall seeing one listed as used a few weeks ago, but both are now being listed as new, even though one has over 2000 miles on it, according to the listing on AutoTrader.

Does that deal include 30k down out of your pocket and 1200 a month? Am I reading that right?

@Jon:

Remember last year when Mercedes was offering a ridiculous incentive on the 2016 Maybach, MSRP of around $200,000. The MSRP for Maybachs dropped down to the $160s for the 2017 iteration. Lexus has reduced MSRPs this year with the RX and perhaps other models. If Acura doesn’t drop the MSRP on the NSX, I foresee huge back-end incentives or trunk money being necessary if it wants to move a certain amount of NSXs in 2017 (whether they be 2017s or 2018s). If no incentives, then I foresee very few sales at all. The used market will matter in four or five years, not during the typical leasing periods of 2 or 3 years. In turn, prices on “dealer-held” NSXs will not increase. Frankly, who wants a $160k Honda?

Because this issue was originally started in the M3 lease transfer thread, I decided not to post on this topic anymore in that thread. @Jon , this is why I moved this discussion to this NSX thread. I am curious to continue the discussion because I don’t want to be missing something that may change my opinion. Thanks.

If Honda drops the MSRP, then obviously prices will drop as well according. I don’t know if Honda would do that though. That would alienate their most diehard fans (the ones that paid MSRP or more). Yes, Honda is kinda already doing that with it’s current incentives, but these are needed to move already made units. They’re rectifying this issue by making the 2018s order only. I guess only time will tell.

Regarding people wanting a $200k Honda. There aren’t many, but there will be some. Just like the $300k Lexus LFA.

Lexus dropped some prices on the higher trimmed RX, but the base is still the same. On the higher trimmed models, they took out previously standard equipment, so it wasn’t a real price drop. Similarly spec-ed models will be fairly the same from 2017 MY to 2018 MY.

they are really nice, but still won’t budge. at 4k down. 1900/month incl tax.

Shouldn’t a Chevy sales manager being looking for a Corvette anyway?

I agree that the prices on the NSX will not increase. I am not sure they really want to sell a lot of them anyway. I think they just want a fancy car to hopefully help them sell other models. Since Acura mainly sells SUVs nowadays, I do not think having the NSX is going to help sales very much.

he already has two chevys. surprisingly most people in the car business dont drive the brand they sell.

This NSX was never a 200k car. It was/is at best 130k car, Honda had inflated their sales hopes along with MSRP. Both promptly got a lesson in real world market adjustment.

Besides, 4300 lbs ‘sports’ car? Seriously ?

It’s definitely a better car than 130k. That’s just crazy.

Do us a favor and please do a little research, The NSX will smoke 98.7 percent of all sports cars out there. I have had mine since sept 17 and have owned several exotics and this thing will destroy a 2017 Audi R8 or the base 2wd Lambo huracan. It will also hand a Ferrari 488 gtb its head. It was absolutely a 200k sports car and will take out 300k to 400k cars all day long. Until you drive one and have owned at least some of the above cars please reserve your judgment.

The problem was with the dealers and the badge in 2018 they will be special order only and this will boost the value of the car. I for one am happy Acura dealers screwed up as i have another Hypercar in my garage that is actually reliable. I think this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and deals like this don’t come along often.

100% agree with you the haters of the 2nd gen NSX are ridiculous and its mostly people that have never driven one or owned a supercar. The car is phenomenal mind bending performance and handling. The Gs this thing pulls are incredible. The way it corners is absolutely astounding.

Check this out

The NSX is indeed an amazing machine. I had the chance to try one out last year and was blown away. I wish the back end looked a little better and the engine/exhaust note sounded better but the car is absolutely amazing. This is coming from a current GT3 owner and I’ve previously owned M3, Z4M, M6, SL65, and Turbo.

I plan to have the NSX parked next to the GT3 in the garage sooner than later. I hope to order one at the end of this year. If you guys are on the fence, jump on it. These lease numbers are insane. Sick sick deals that our forum members scored.

Cheers

Matt Farah as in driver/car authority? Hilarious.

Here’s a drag test between base (non-Nismo) GTR McLaren 540C and Honda NSX. While the Honda is plenty fast, it is just not fast enough. Comes in dead last in this somewhat fast company.

Here, Honda NSX with all its flashy hybrid trickery and wizardry again loses to both 911 Turbo (non S) and GTR (almost a decade old design)

And here, one of the fastest drivers to ever drive a race car, does his best not to completely obliterate the Honda. Says ‘I like it, but don’t love it’…’I hope it’s just version 1, with version 2 still to come’. Wow.

And right on cue, Honda is retired, as it breaks down with brake failure after completing a single warm up lap on the circuit.

These reviews are just a small sampling of vids demonstrating that when NSX gets in the ring with heavyweights, it tries to punch well above its weight, but each time either gets KO’d or quits the bout.

Thanks for the videos. I think on the track or in a long straight line you are right. However most of the people who buy the nsx will rarely if ever take it to the track. Thus for 0-60 and handling, the nsx gives you everything the others do and more.

And on top of that the car is on an insane lease deal So while your videos are something, they don’t matter a whole lot. If people can afford it they should get it. It’s an awesome car and if you put nothing down and want to get rid of it, it shouldn’t be too hard at todays lease prices.

Just enjoy it. It’s a great value for what it is, which is a sublime driver that you can drive daily without the lease and maintenance costs, worry and hassle that comes with its European counterparts. And it gets damn good gas mileage if you want.

…and it’s made right here at home!

I took until 150mph for the 400k lambo to pass the NSX. The NSX smokes most exotics looks to me like they don’t know how to launch it. You have to do it immediately when it says launch mode ready If you wait it is not as fast.

heres your GTR vs NSX

heres your NSX vs race bike

Oh and heres a Ferrari getting handed its head

His videos are not accurate see below it takes time with the car to realize you can bend the laws of physics and can actually push it through corners much differently than a regular car. Also they were off on the launch mode.

I guess Chris Harris is and Idiot as well…
