About to finance fully-loaded 2023 EQS 580. 3.5k miles. MSRP 146k; I got them down to 115k. Any reason I shouldn't buy?

Current wholesale on a 2022 EQS 580 is $72k. If you bought a 2023 for $112k plus tax and fees, you could easily lose $45k in the first year.

See attached.

That’s the current wholesale on what trim, though? Isn’t that important? Not being argumentative, genuinely asking. The trim we were looking at is the Pinnacle trim (the highest), which starts at 131,350.

Is the rebate listed for the lease or finance?

15% is bad for the loaner. Should push for 18%-19% on EQS

No, the trim isn’t important. Options rarely hold their value. When you go to sell your EQS, the dealer will look up the wholesale value on Manheim (that doesn’t distinguish by trim). Then, they will offer you way less because they probably won’t want the car.

I’m revising my above statement. It might make some difference because the Hyperscreen is a selling point and I just realized that’s only available in Pinnacle. Still, I wouldn’t bank on it making a huge difference. Maybe you lose $40k instead of $45k.

Trim is important. The expensive the trim, the less you sell later

Why this particular car though? I am sure you can find a comparable one. Even if you get it shipped cross country, you will be better off financially when you lease it.

The hyperscreen isn’t pinnacle-only. It’s standard for the 580.

Can this car in Tampa be leased (demo, exec car?) or was it previously titled?

I believe it’s a former loaner.

Then just hit them with your newly found knowledge. And, whatever you do, do NOT mention this website.

MMR for the SUV is around $103k, not factoring the trim. Not the same $40k loss but still I wouldn’t buy it :joy:. MF is too low to not lease, 2.6%

What do you mean by that?

Good point. OP, what is your interest rate for financing?

6.5% from Chase.

I tried DMing you last night. How can I get in touch with you?
