Why you giving the dude a hard time? If you knew anything about anything you would know that this happened a month after the fact and the bank had already funded the contract. He canāt just talk to the dealer and unwind (like I have said before - it is not his choice). He canāt even threaten because the deal is funded. Relax yo.
Thanks for saving me the reply. This guy clearly doesnāt get it.
If I āreturnā the car, I am essentially doing a voluntary repossession and will be ruining my credit. There is no such thing as unwinding a deal in California, there is no cool-off period, and even if there was, this was 30 days after I signed the freaking deal!
Iām not talking about a cooling off period and iām also not talking about voluntary repossession. I live in CA, iām very well aware of the options.
I think I read most of it.
Just an advice.
Walk into the dealership and talk to the manager over there to clarify the situation for you. Maybe you will be (unpleasantly) surprized that they actually are right and they are covered by the signed contract.
If they just beat around the bush then maybe they are just fishing and do this as common practice. If out of 50 requests 10 people pay, they make $13000. Not too shabby.
But showing your face in there is a move that carries a lot of weight believe it or not. And itās free.
Good luck, I am looking forward to see how it ends. I hope you resolve this quickly and favorably for you. You are right to be angry, but take a breath, keep a cool head
I agree with this comment. I find showing up in person is far less awkward too, and itās much easier to find out a personās actual intentions vs a phone call or certified letter. It could be a simple misunderstanding easily resolved in 10 minutes.
I think at this point after reading the entire thread, all thatās left for OP to do is unwind the deal and give the car back. Itās really the only way to give the dealer the 'ole one-two. That will show those scallywags what heās made of!
