340i - How to understand this deal near me

https://www.schompbmw.com/inventory/used-2018-bmw-3-series-340i-xdrive-awd-4dr-car-wba8b7g52jnu95259

This car has <5k miles and seems to be in the wheelhouse for a good deal on a lease.

However, the price doesn’t seem all that great:

STOCK 1BL81208
VIN WBA8B7G52JNU95259
MILES 4,251
MSRP $57,860
Schomp Discount $5,000
Sale Price $52,860
Finance Credit More Info $3,000
Best Available Price $49,860
Lease For: $553 / month
Or Finance For: $740 / month

^ This assumeas $2750.00 down payment as well!

Compared to other deals like:

2017, BMW, 340i, Xdrive (all options except performance pack I think)
MSRP: $60,575
Selling price: $48,000 (20.76% off)
Monthly Payment: $427 (.7%), including tax; $485 if zero drive-offs
Down Payment: $0
**Months: 24
**Annual Mileage: 10,000
**MF: .00156
**Residual: 65.71 (adjusted for miles)
Available Incentives: $3,000 (loyalty would have made this sub $400)
**Leasehackr Score: 12.5 years

DC Tax at 10%

Drive-offs: $1,300 – first month, license/registration, doc fee, taxes (doc and rebates)

This makes it seem, well, meh. Is this just the start of negotiation? Am I going about this wrong?

They are offering a lousy discount for a loaner. It should be more like 20% off. Also, they haven’t given (or you haven’t posted) the money factor, which I almost guarantee is marked up to the max allowed.

Their discount is low… and schomp uses a marked up money factor. I got my 5 series from them and they are very hard to negotiate with because they are a “one price, no negotiate” dealer.

You can get them to use the correct money factor but getting a bigger discount there will be hard.

That was a deal for a '17 in March, lease support ends in April. More incentive for dealers to sell at the time because the following month they can not lease out the cars. They still have 7 months to sell a 340i demo/loaner, which should not be a problem for them.

April is usually the best time, but I have seen crazy things happen in December. Every center’s trying to finish the year strong and make up on any slack on models they need to hit their goals on. It’s a toss up.

BMW of Denver typically has much more aggressive pricing and they have loaners as well. Schomp will negotiate to a small extent but as other’s mentioned that is a lousy discount on a higher mileage loaner.
