2024 X3 M40i...Ready to Buy....Final Logistical Questions and Discount Options

, ,

Background:
Primary residence in FL where our current 2012 X3 is registered.
Summers in NC where we will be when car is going to be ready for delivery.
Car with options will be $70,070.
Loyalty Discount and Costco.
We will finance (I think the rate is 3.99%). If it is much higher, then we will pay cash.

  1. What should we negotiate? 9.5% or ???

  2. What fees should we expect? Broker Fee? Transport fee?

  3. Is there any point is asking the local dealer to match or is that generally a waste of time?

  4. We can’t sell our old car until we get delivery of the new car. If we are in NC, can we still get it delivered to NC and yet register in FL?

  5. If our plan is to sell the old car, do we have to buy another tag or is there a way to have a temp tag to drive around to carmax type place and liquidate old car? Confused on logistics of having 2 cars but only needing one tag…

  6. How do you decide which broker to use on this forum marketplace? ie…who is reputable and how do I verify they are legit?

  7. Do I have to drive to FL to receive the new car and sell the old car?

This is all new to me but I do like the hastle free way of buying a car…

Thanks in advance.

I feel like we may have spoken yesterday on the phone but…

  1. 9.5% would be extremely strong on an X3 M40i, they aren’t exactly plentiful.
  2. Broker Fee if you use a broker, transport if you don’t want to pick up
  3. Probably not, especially if in FL
  4. Yes, at least with me I know we can do that
  5. New car comes on temp tag, you drive it on that anyway until you get new plates or plate transfer is done
  6. Did any other brokers spend a bunch of time on the phone with you helping you determine whether or not there were any cars left in the country that met your spec?

  7. No

Feel free to call me back when you’re ready!

If it’s logistically easier to register in North Carolina than just do that
