2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE

If you can’t get a great deal on it, i.e. zero down for $900/mo, then consider waiting until better times. There is no shortage of inventory like 6 months ago, the inventory will grow now (they will keep ordering based on current sales volume), but something lurks on the background that many people don’t notice: a lot of businesses downsize due to bad cash flow, cost/profit ratio, this will be 2007-2009 all over again. With a lot of people out of good paying jobs, these MB’s will languish on dealer’s lots. Then Feds will start dropping the rates, as they always do after screwing it up for everybody. If you don’t get a great offer now just wait a little longer, things will change soon.

You are changing the subject. You said GLE450e is too slow and sluggish compared to V6 GLE450, numbers show it isn’t. You said it’s priced 14K under GLE450, again, the link I posted shows base prices for both, and both have an average MSRP of lower/upper 70’s on dealers lots. Anyhow, I am not forcing you or anybody to do anything, lease/buy any car (I don’t sell MB’s :grinning:), or make any choice against their will. I am here strictly to explore my options and get myself educated, tapping into knowledge and experience of regular posters who know more about current market than I do. If you don’t like it, you may simply ignore my posts. Have a good one.

Yup I was wrong about the $14k number. I was basing that on the confusing wording of your initial rambling. That was my bad.

Asked and answered. To me, the 450e is a 4cyl that is slower than the 450, based on the numbers. As I said, aside from the cleanpass sticker and the $7.5k, I find it to be less desirable than the 450. Upon further research, I realized that the 450e is 7% lower on the residual, which makes it even worse. The $7.5k may or may not reconcile that. That’s what the calculator is for which you have not utilized during the course of this discussion.

But anyways, no point in continuing to go in circles here. Best of luck to you big fella

You do realize that mb isn’t the brand to be cheap? If you want cheap that’s what Volvo is for. Sub $600 xc60 plus leases are doable

It doesn’t lease well.

Can we close this thread now?

I do. I was leasing them since 2010. Never cheap. Always paid $450-$550/mo with zero down. The last one, SUV, is costing me $600/mo, with original window price of just under $49K. I am willing to pay $900/mo for GLE. Paying $1500/mo for it would be foolish to me. But others may disagree. To each their own.

Thank you for your valuable input and advise.

Yes, please.

Do you have a time machine? Lets try to buy houses at prices from 2010 to 2020 too!

May be I do. I just traded three cars (two mine, one relative’s), and got fantastic deals on them. In all fairness, current market is nothing like in September, 2021. You can get great deals on a lot of cars, MB just doesn’t appear to be one of them. And I am perfectly fine with it.

If I posted something offensive or hurtful, then sure, moderators can close the thread. But “it doesn’t lease well” doesn’t answer the question on the title of OP: What is the best lease deal on new 2024 MB GLE450? I would also add “and on GLE450e”. So far, @djrabbi posted $901/mo lease quote with $7500 EV rebate on top of a large discount (I wasn’t even aware that you could get EV rebate on hybrid car, thanks to this forum I now do). If what he posted is indeed the best possible deal one can get on GLE450, then I have no further questions. I wish people who leased them with better MF and larger discounts posted their story, without sharing too many details that could violate the privacy and dealer’s/broker’s business interests.

GLE450 vs GLE450e isn’t comparable honestly. I drove both and GLE450e is a slouch. It feels heavier too. I didn’t like it much but the credit of $7500 does help out. This is like the wrangler ICE vs 4xe Wrangler. Most people think the 4xe is a better buy but are they really using the hybrid portion? Most of the clients I help don’t use hybrid, they just rather get the best deal.

That SUV is huge, even the model you ended up buying , with V8 Turbo, will not feel like sport’s car. If one installed V12 with twice the power of GLE63 in it, that car would burn tires and drift, but would be difficult to manage under stressful conditions requiring high maneuverability. They don’t make them like Porsche’s, it’s a car that is sought after almost solely for its aesthetic value, and those with I4 are best for people who don’t care much about fast acceleration (my wife, for instance, doesn’t). I can imagine that I4 hybrid feels more sluggish than V6, but it’s still a lot better than GLE350. All being said, this is a car for a special taste, it’s not for everyone. Just like BMW’s aren’t.

As @Jon said. GLE450 is and probably always be a terrible lease. It is a very popular model so no dealer is going to heavily discount it. GLE450e is a new model so dealers are eager to sell them and get more allocation in.

I would just buy the GLE450 if you are already willing to put $20K down.

Have a question. So just want to know. If the battery dies; no charge left then the car just uses the iL 4 cylinder engine correct? Which will reduce the Hp to the 255 Hp

He has a point there. As to buying, I prefer to pay for depreciation and lease a newer car 2-3 years down the road. Purchased car keeps depreciating until it dies one day. I know the argument to the contrary, that if you buy it then at least you have something after paying all that money for it, and you can always trade it/sell it before it dies. That’s fair point, except it costs a lot to fix an old, used car. German cars in particular. They are high maintenance and very expensive to fix when they break, and they start falling apart once you drive them past the warranty.

Well… I can get you a GLE53 for $1500 a month if that helps. LOL! It is a fun car for sure and no slouch!

That’s a good offer, thanks! But $1500 is out of my budget for a car.

How much down ?
