I did reach out to couple of brokers here, will submit my formal request to second broker. The first one is a bit busy and hasn’t provided a quote yet.
TBH, the picture that I’m getting is that, even w/ more of a discount, there are still structural issues w/ this being an appealing lease candidate. The MF alone would enough to put me off. But if you like the car and are fine w/ the payment, then whatever works for you…
Agreed. That’s why I didn’t say “I like the MF” or “I like that quote”. To the contrary, I mentioned that in MD 6% tax would be a killer and 7,500 mi/yr is too low for me, we drive around 10K miles a year and would be paying a hefty fine if we signed 7,5K/yr lease contract. What matters is that $900 is far apart from $1400-$1500 most of the dealers would quote you (and they would stop talking to you if you asked for any discount). Nothing is set in a stone is what I wanted to get across.
I am also open to consider 2024 Porsche Macan , one of the brokers advertised it (base model at around $65K MSRP) for $900/mo (39 mo/10k mi) ,after dealer’s discount and zero downpayment. I wonder if Macan under $900 is doable in MD.
Are you comparing your $1400 quote on a GLE450 to a $900 deal on a GLE450e?
I realize “e” gets 7500 rebate that is not available on regular GLE450. I don’t like EV, but hybrid is good for me. Saves gas and doesn’t depend on charging, can still fill up with gas and go in the hurry. So, it’s acceptable to me
In that case, you are comparing apples to oranges my friend.
Yes the E gets the $7500 but the MSRP on the 450E you are referencing is at least $14k less than the cars you were quoted on. Of course there’s going to be a huge difference in monthly. If you want the GLE, go focus on finding the GLE450E or, dare I say it, the very underwhelming GLE350
Benz dealers just dont have a ton of interest in offering incentive on them. Facelift for 2024, young age on the lot, etc. Remember, they are somewhat region dependent, but here in CO, we have no trouble selling them. Great mountain cars. So I am sure you can find a store willing to sweeten the deal, but it comes down to how much your time is worth in chasing that deal. And like others have said, they just dont lease well right now. The money factor being over 300 adds a good chunk to monthly, making it pretty much a finance payment.
2023’s could be a good bet - some stores still have them, would be easy to get below invoice on one. I know it isnt the same.
@djrabbi posted his deal offer, you can look it up, the GLE450e he was quoted on had MSRP of 76K, that’s 3K above the 450GLE’s I was quoted on, not 14K less.
All good points! As to chasing a deal, it’s a good time spent off the work for me, I like doing this more than going to office and doing my 9-5 job, and I don’t make $500 to $1000 per hour at work (if I did, why would I waste any time negotiating the price?), so at the end of the day the amount I could save far outweighs my costs. Besides, getting a deal is a process, I never know what I will end up with. I started to look for GLC as a replacement, now looking at GLE, who knows, I may end up getting Porsche Macan or some other car I may come across of, that will be a better car with better options and less cost.
I see. I think this is what confused me
Nevertheless, sounds like you know what you’re doing. Good luck
Thank you. I pay $600 for a car that had under $49,000 MSRP when I leased it brand new. I am willing to pay $300 more if the replacement has 50% higher MSRP (that would be around $73,500, which is what many of GLE’s sticker price is). I won’t pay $1500/mo for it.
The 450e may be feasible if you find the right dealer at the right time who will discount on top of the $7.5k. But on a 450, you will be hard pressed to find anyone who is willing to discount those. Maybe a needle in a haystack former loaner car, with damage disclosure… maybe. You probably would have better luck searching for a GLE350 at your budget, but your 50% higher payment for 50% higher msrp rule is very pie in the sky.
I like GLE450e, is there any reason not to like it? It’s gas powered, not EV, don’t have to wait long to charge battery in a hurry (just fill up the tank), has the $7,500 rebate as EV and a hybrid engine which will add a little mileage (never hurts to get an extra mile on the car). Is there something wrong with “e” that makes it a less desirable car?
It’s a slower 4cyl hybrid that has a higher sticker than the 6cyl counterpart. The only saving grace for it is the $7.5k credit and the fact that you can drive it with a Cleapass sticker.
Not sure where you get your numbers from, it starts with $69K, I think “e” is priced similarly to regular GLE450, most on dealer’s lots have options driving prices to lower/higher 70’s. 5.8 sec. for 0-60 is not too terrible, it’s very similar to GLC I4 turbo @5.7 sec while much bigger in size. With 479 lb-ft (combined) torque it is not a racing car (with that size it’s not meant to be, unless you want a boat to drift and loose control on sharp turns), but good enough for regular driving.
It’s a LOT faster than GLE350, which goes 0-60 in 7 sec. and has only
295 lb-ft torque. GLE450e is not GLE350, it has electic motor that kicks in and adds noticeable kick.
As a matter of fact GLE450e has higher torque than GLE450, and takes only slightly longer to accelerate from 0 to 60.

What a circular thread this is. You seem very set in your ways. It’s almost like you want people here to convince you to do what it is you want to do.
Here’s one, did you know that the GLE450e residual is in the neighborhood of 7% lower than the GLE450? Do you know what that does to your monthly payment? Is that a good enough reason to not like it?
Why don’t you do what everyone else does here and do some actual research on the cars you are looking for and plug the numbers into the calculators to see how feasible they are? Rather than combat everyone who has a differing opinion than you. Might be more productive.
No combat, just the numbers, plain and simple. Specs are published online, I posted the links. I don’t battle or deny the facts ![]()
The fact is the residual on a 36/10k for a 450e is 51% versus 58% on a 450. But I’m sure you knew that.
I’m in the same dilemma, literally hired someone from fiverr to hunt down and ask for all GLE450s from NY to Florida and all got some shit ass leases. Just hoping for this one demo I’ve found from a manager 2024 gle450. Same for me the new x5 doesnt look the best. Porsche aren’t the best either in terms of leasing.
