Bro what?

EVs over $80k MSRP don’t qualify for federal tax credits.

They do if you lease. GM uses it to inflate the residual value on a lease.

The federal EV tax credit as advertised gives consumers a $7500 credit on their taxes l, which many dealerships have moved to using an online portal that allows the credit to be transferred to then when you buy a car and offer it as an immediate rebate. This program has the $80k MSRP that you’re referring to.

There is another provision of that EV credit however when it comes to commercial vehicles and leases. This drops many of the requirements such as assembly location and most notably the $80k MSRP. In this situation, the financing bank for the lease gets the $7500 credit. They can they pass that credit back on to the lessee. Some manufacturers do this by showing a rebate or other credit line, however GM decided to do it across their brands by inflating the residual.

Still a $1200 payment. I called them LOL

What do these mean? Just looking for an explanation.

Even at 30%+ off the Omega is still crazy expensive…

I’m surprised the onepay knocked that much off the monthly effective.

Yeah I was suprised too! i thought it was going to be like $30-40 a month but its about $120 a month difference or about 5K in interest

Have them put it on a GM credit card and take the high reward on top of that then haha.

Oh yes already doing that. GM being a jerk and not letting me put entire amount. I might “bail” and say won’t sign till I get what I want

Is it the dealership or GM Financial that’s putting a cap on how much you can throw on the card? And curious what amount they’re saying the cap is?

I’ve got another 3x I should be singing and picking up today and was debating doing a onepay with their card so wondering how viable it is for me to do.

Dealer putting cap on it cause of fraud

At least for the Silverado and Sierra EV insurance wasn’t bad at all.

My Sierra EV added $260 total for my 6 months policy.
