I don’t think I’ve actually done an intro but my name is Tim and you guys probably know me as the Ford broker but I wanted to introduce myself and also share this really cool Lease hack that I did for myself. Let me preface it with the following:
No the dealer will not be able to reproduce this
I’m sure this will not stop some folks from asking lol. This was a left over 24 unit that was a demo with some miles on it. The MF was marked up 100BPS and there was a VIN etch that was also tacked on. I wasn’t going to complain since the adjusted cap cost was going to be under the residual. The dealer ended up bumping the sale price by 500$ to get the deal to fund but only collected 13,016$ as a one-pay.
My 3250$ rebate was broker down as 2k supplier (I think I can share a code now that I bought a car) and 1250$ executive Costco. The 2024 CTP loaners have their CTP cash as a dealer cash now so they should be getting a bigger dealer discount.
What did they claim to VIN etch? Friend of mine got an EV in CO they charged for VIN etching the cat. He signed it because they refused to remove the charge, served them in small claims and won. If I remember correctly it was $799.
24M effective was sub 300$. My logic here was never chasing the lowest possible effective payment but rather trying to stretch the lease out as much as possible. Given the nature of the EV tax credit going away; I’m sure no one knows what the EV market will look like in a year or so. I just want to lock something in for the next 3 years to hedge against rising cost.
What exactly about this lease should impress us? Yes, it’s better than what brokers advertise, but with some effort I can negotiate a similar deal. It’s amazing how people think these deals can’t be replicated—they’re either arrogant or clueless.
No one is here to impress you. I don’t know how you can replicate a deal that is 30 cents above the residual. I guess maybe a buyrate deal at 30 cent above residual. Otherwise the deal wouldn’t fund. And to be honest, not to toot my own horn, this the best Hummer EV 3X lease in the whole USA that anyone has gotten. If you think I’m wrong, prove it by sending me a deal that someone else has gotten that’s better
In theory you could beat it in CO with $12k state rebate. But the limitations on that rebate and finding a loaner that qualifies don’t currently exist in state. There are a couple loaners out there that a CO resident could collect on if the dealers wanted to play ball, but in my connections with them the dealers weren’t willing to work with out of state. The GMC website makes it pretty easy to search and sort, just have to run the vin verification for the state rebate.
Could you provide more insight on the $12k CO rebate? My understanding is that the Hummer is eligible for the $3500 rebate as its gross weight is under 10k pounds. The $12k rebate is for medium or heavy-duty vehicles over 10k weigh. I’ll admit my understanding on this is very limited but would love to learn more since I live in Colorado.
I don’t want to piss on your parade, but I’ve got an offer on an identical 2025 unit with the sale price $2,000 under the residual. For GM Financial to fund it, the dealer bumps the monthly a bit and then cuts me a fat check to cover the difference. My dealer stacked the CPO rebate more than once, plus I’ve got GM EV Supplier of the Year and Costco on top.
Your 2024 deal isn’t bad, but let’s be real—the dealer had been paying floor plan interest for months and finally decided to dump that unit.
So don’t say your deal can’t be replicated. It can. All it takes is knowing how leases work and having some patience.
