Thank you both! Should’ve specified - hoping to find one eligible for the EV tax credit as well. That + FF discount would it worth the travel potentially out of state.

I know these are likely long gone - but wanted to put it out there in case there’s any chance.

EV credit only applies to vehicles under $80k MSRP right?

Assuming we’re talking about Federal tax credit…
That’s for purchasing and it’s only $3,750 anyway as the car only meets the requirement in bold below

  • $3,750 if the vehicle meets the critical minerals requirement only
  • $3,750 if the vehicle meets the battery components requirement only
  • $7,500 if the vehicle meets both

On the lease Rivian is giving you $7500 EV credit regardless of MSRP (I believe they have a loophole where they classify the leased car as ā€œcommercial vehiclesā€ and still get the tax credit from the government regardless of MSRP and they pass it on to you) so above $80k is fine.

I’m new to this so I’m trying my best to wrap my head around all of this. Does this look right??

Calculator

Can someone help with my current lease offer? Very confused on how this happened.

Do you still have any left?

Same question as above I have tried looking at inventory but can’t find any. If anyone can share the availability in NorCal or socal, I would really appreciate it.

Rivian making it super hard to buy a car. Looking for help on something. If I go to a zip code in a different state, when you go to put in a deposit, the zip code is locked in for delivery. I spoke with Rivian and they don’t know if that can be changed later for reservation purposes. Has anyone dealt with this already? Don’t want to put a non refundable deposit and deal with this after. Ty.

For anyone who recently reserved, have you noticed the vehicle changing after reserving?

Reserved and paid deposit Thursday night. It was showing VIN number and asking for titling / registration details.

Since Friday now it shows configuration confirmed but VIN number is no longer there and it isn’t asking for registration details anymore…

Was ready to pull the trigger on an R1T because of this dope deal - went to the dealership and love the R1S significantly more than the R1T. With no use for the flatbed and preferring the SUV design over the pickup - gonna hold out and hope Rivian decides to expand the friends and family discount to the R1S in the coming months. In the meantime looking at other brand options in case I need to pull the trigger sooner.

I have a 2023 R1T Quad Large Launch edition on order. Debating whether or not to take it. Does anyone here know if the launch edition residual is different from the adventure pack? Couldn’t find anything online.

Should be the same.

I’ve got a Quad Launch Edition R1T on reserve. I’m going with another spec so I don’t need this reservation. Please DM me if anyone wants it.

Just looking at the original lease calculator, shouldn’t the original msrp be the 80k number and the selling price be the 70k+ number? Lowering the msrp changes the picture. Does Rivian do it differently?

It’s 61% on a 36/10 lease. The reservation isn’t transferable, unless you’re just giving someone a heads up to watch for it to pop up in inventory.

Correct.

So residual is 4% less than OP calculator on a Launch Edition? OP was at 65% on an Adventure Pack Quad

So what happened in my case seems to be a one off since they manually adjusted the residual. I had already completed all the steps before the employee discount came out and they based the residual off the lowered selling price instead of the original MSRP.

Aaah I see. I’m going to push for that residual. Makes a big difference.

The numbers still match even when you fix it.
OP’s residual is exactly 58% of $80800
Calculator with the right MSRP below. Same exact numbers as OP

That’s not a realistic residual to aim for as it’s not real. It worked for OP to show the numbers he got but above is the right formula for Quad Large.
