Rivian R1T 2023 Lease Help!

Hi!

I’m in NorCal (94619). I found a 2023 R1T Quad Motor which I’m supposed to be picking up Friday.

The day before yesterday, my 2023 Promotion amount was $2,xxx. I didn’t take a screenshot so I don’t remember exactly what it was. It has since changed to $1,075. The employee discount applied looks correct.

I’m wondering if anyone can help me understand why this has changed or how I can ensure the 2023 promotion applied is correct?

I’ve reached out to Rivian 4 times now and I’ve been told all sorts of things and it’s been a very poor experience. They still don’t know what it was or why it’s changed. One rep told me the msrp changed and that’s why my discount changed. This is not true because nothing aside from my 2023 discount has changed.

Appreciate any help or guidance! If anyone has a similar build, would they be willing to share their VIN or screenshots so I can maximize this promotion?

Same thing happened to me, dropped $975 to almost the same # you have. i gave up w customer svc bc its a $10 monthly diff.

I feel like my change is driving a $40 difference per month and no one can tell us what happened… this is extremely strange.

Try support again.
I called my local service center and they connected me to sales and they were able to sort out my issue.
In this case though you might by SOL as the discount is purely at their discretion.

EDIT - disregard the below, incorrect logic - I should be calculating residual off MSRP rather than gross capitalized cost

I feel like If your price increased 1k, $40/mo doesn’t compute, unless my logic is off.

$1k divided by 36mo = $27/mo. But, you aren’t taking that full $27 as depreciation expense, only 100% less the residual value (~60%). So, i’d assume your monthly payment is increasing ~40% of $27, which is $11. Make sense?

What about the interest?
What about the capital cost reductions?
What about the taxes?
Your calculations are a bit off.

I think my original discount was closer to $2700 and now it’s $1075 so more than $1k difference

Yes, your logic is off.

$1000 less discount means an additional $1000 depreciation you’re paying for, and then rent charge and tax on that $1000.

Your depreciation argument is correct for $1000 change in msrp, not $1000 change in selling price.

Ah thanks. I was calc’ing residual off adjusted cap cost rather than MSRP

Did you get figure out why it decreased? I’m on the same boat…

No they never told me what happened

dang. i see. are you still going to get it?

Not sure having regret

I luckily took a screenshot of my discount before it disappeared. My sales guide had it reinstated.

Do you mind sending me your VIN so I can try to get my sales guide to match?
