2023 Acura Integra

How have the Honda turbo engines fared in terms of reliability? I heard a lot about oil dilution at one point, but have not heard much about long term reliability.

Their automatic transmission will die before the engine.

I just got a Civic EX, it is loud. If the Integra is close to that noise level then it’s a deal breaker.

The noise level will likely be completely unchanged (!).

From the article:
Remarkably, given the Acura’s extra content, nicer cabin materials, and hatch, it weighs only 120 or so pounds more than a Civic Si or hatchback… We’d stomach some extra mass for sound attenuation. Like the Hondas, the Integra is loud, especially on grooved concrete or the aggregate-style asphalt used in Texas, where we drove the car.

I haven’t driven a current-gen Civic, but that would likely also be a deal breaker for me.

I’ll wait for the test drive to decide, but most likely I will get my deposit back. Base car is $36k OTD, that’s too much money for a noisy car.

Let us know what you think.

Car and Driver has a first review up and bluntly said that they think people should stick w/ the Civic Si or a Sport hatchback (and also commented on how noisy the car was). They also pointed out the Si seems to have be dis-contented to make space for the Integra. You know it’s got to be pretty disappointing for them to say that.

I think it’ll sell… okay. But I think it’s going to be a ā€œmehā€ car overall, unfortunately.

Test drove an A-spec 6MT today, and my word it was glorious. Haven’t driven a 2022 Si yet, but did drive a Civic Hatchback Sport Touring 6MT few months back and felt much higher quality. The light clutch threw me off at first, but still an improvement over the previous gen Civic Si featherlight clutch.

Everything felt tight and buttoned down. The interior materials were mostly better than the Civic hatch, but the sound system and overall aesthetics are head and shoulders above in the Acura.

The one disappointment was the high trunk lip, you would have to lift over the hump to load into the hatch. Not a deal breaker for me, but for someone who wants a hatch over a small CUV would definitely not be sold on it.

Thinking this will be my next car if I sell my ā€œbeaterā€ 2013 328i 6MT M-sport in the next few weeks.

aesthetically it looks good and even creates a design continuity to the RSX. That said, as someone who is interested in the hatch since I’m currently driving around with 2 convertible car seats and lugging a stroller with me, it’s definitely a drawback, though haven’t decided if it’s a deal breaker or not.

Well the good thing is the rear seating area is huge. In comparison to small SUVs, I’d say the rear seat width and legroom is larger than the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Porsche Macan, which have been my main two targets (used of course)

Currently have Tiguan (huge rear seat insofar as legroom) and LEAF (it works, even if just barely) with car seats in both.

I will say when I briefly looked at Stelvio, I was pretty sure the car seats would be a tight fit if it would work at all, haha.

I’m sure the Integra rear seat room will work, it’s more will the high trunk lip get annoying after awhile enough so that I’ll wish I saved $6k and got a Civic Sport Touring 6MT?

To be perfectly honest, I’m still leaning towards buying out the LEAF and replacing the RSX-S with a TSX or TL 6MT. Barely drive the RSX since I can’t fit car seats in it.

Def approach buying an Alfa with caution. Repairs and depreciation :flushed:

Any Alfa I consider is certified and will be gone before warranty expires

Doesn’t save you from the depreciation though

Yes, same dilemma here. At first thought, the $6-7k difference isn’t apparent, but I think over time it will become. Normally I’d say resale could be an issue, but honestly the current Civic resale is insane.

I will say the Si/Integra tune of the engine is much better than the base 1.5.

Cars are on the lot now. I like the look of the car but the inside is meh to me. Deciding between this and maybe a A3 and a Mazda3. Wife shot down the 6MT Idea.

I could stomach the 38k msrp, but that is a lot of blessings over that.

5K in plastics!

I wanna know what kind of drugs the dealer is taking, and subsequently the kind of drugs the customer who inevitably pays that price is taking.

I sure MSRP is doable soon if not already, right now it’s mostly nostalgic play (myself included). My reservation is 1k over and they wouldn’t take off the $200 nitrogen lol. Not sure why these dealerships do what they do putting on a ridiculous price. Some say is to leave a car for test drives.
