2022 Nissan Frontier S 18month 10k lease $195 a month 195 DAS

Can’t wait for the slew of folks regretting a cheap lease on a base truck because they’re stuck. It’s coming.

Still maintain this is really great for someone who (1) needs a work truck, (2) truly doesn’t care about their transportation, or (3) is a new driver.

Great point - thanks.

If used car values hold, you could get an offer for MSRP+ to get out of the lease down the road, but it’s a gamble.

I do think the lease + Turo path makes sense if it doesn’t violate any NMAC rules in the lease agreement.

Or an in network dealer at least if a new Nissan isn’t your cup of tea down the road.

That’s me! Second car for my partner to use for her 3 mile commute a few times a week. Market is bonkers here in the bay area full of rich tech nerds. After a day of communicating with dealers (95% of who were incredibly unhelpful), I managed to score this deal at $230/month and now I’m addicted to this leasehacking stuff

Anyone seen a dealer in SoCal able to do this?

Why not grab some VINs of in stock units and see what Carmax will offer with 100-500 or so miles on them? Might give you an idea of what some dealers could offer

Have banks figured out a way around buyouts by charging outrageous MF but no depreciation? Is there anything keeping them back from applying this lease model in general

Vroom offered me 37k for the one I bought at the start of this. While I have no intention of flipping it, above MSRP is certainly a possibility.

Not much to regret. Not only is it cheap but it’s the shortest lease term out there. Do you feel equally sorry for buyers of base Tacos who lock in 24/36 deals with fees and MSDs?

You could probably throw this up on swap a lease for a $2k DAS fee and make money on the whole thing as long as remaining liable was worth the risk.

With Nissan, you’re pretty much stuck with it the entire term. Not even Nissan dealers will buy it back lol.

I agree with you tho with the Taco guys signing on 3yr leases vs this.

Tacos also still use rear drum brakes (hello, it’s 2022) and the Frontier atleast has disc brakes.

99% percent of folks don’t know this and prob 99% don’t even care but just saying.

Given the market, it’s a cheap rental if one needs a set of wheels until the market cools off .

I think trucks are terrible for new drivers. The intuition of knowing a vehicle’s dimensions and what spaces it will and won’t fit into, that comes over time and experience.

Plus you’ve got just a bit more license to do things like cut people off and reinforce bad habits.

Not to mention forward momentum and the potential for rear-ending someone when driving a heavier vehicle, although the disc brakes might help there

I really don’t want a Frontier. I really don’t need a Frontier. But damn am I tempted to go see what I can pick one up for…

for anyone mentioning it - there is NO vpp on frontiers or pathfinders.

I don’t think anyone will regret this lease for under $200/mo ($6.66/day) and the shortness of it, specially those that are nearing their lease term soon, will appreciate a cheap lease for 18 months regardless of what they drive.

Those that don’t need a vehicle should just invest that $200+insurance $$ they would’ve paid instead of getting this “just because” it’s cheap-at least your investment should pay you back and then some

I feel the same way. I need a big boy truck. But this is tempting.

Got a quote for $286.55 with first month and doc fee due at signing. Seems like a ~$700 markup. Better than most dealers who don’t even respond or relentlessly try to get me to come into the dealership HAHA.
