2022 Bolt EV and EUV price drop! $6,300 Customer Cash

I wish I contacted a Lemon Law Lawyer first before contacting GM on my own…
They just made every possible way to delay your process
I started my process 3 months ago and has yet placed an order… and a lawyer can’t take your case after you talk to GM and they agreed your trade repurchase. Here in CA, lawyers will get money from GM, so you don’t need to pay anything.

I’m good with whatever way it goes

Are those BOLT LT and premier deal still there in the bay area? (California).
I am in the market, but unable to get the kind of pricing discussed here.

That’s because they don’t exist. Aim for sticker pricing and a dealership that will honor Supplier/factory incentives.

Wow. So were all the 2020 bolts recalled ? I have a 2020 3yr/10k lease. My location is New Jersey. In 2021 I got a few letters that told me to “stand by” for a battery replacement and get a software update, but I have received no updates at all in 2022. Did I miss something? What steps do you suggest I take? Has anyone done a summary post of the process? Thanks!

2020 is under the recall. You were notified. There are a few Bolts that had their battery replaced, but it is hard to get a battery replacement still due to parts shortage. There is a whole thread on the recall process.

So, 2020 models are not the priority group for the recall but indeed it is still part of the recall.
I started my process by going to the GM website and entering my VIN;

A Case Referral Specialist then reaches out to you with what’s required to proceed with Buyback or Repurchase.
You can opt for either but the nonsense is that they won’t give you any numbers for the Buyback or Repurchase until you place an order with your local Chevy dealer. Up until recently, local dealership didn’t have too much incentive to get involved in this since they were too busy selling cars but appears that their bandwidth is improving. This was probably the longest part of the process thus far. I have submitted my order number now with Repurchase Coordinator and waiting to hear back.

One thing to note, the repurchase is done with the MSRP for which the car was leased or purchased. Seeing that MSRP for Bolt has dropped by ~$6k, that’s a huge advantage for the consumers since I can get a more expensive full option EUV for the 1LT Bolt I originally leased. At least, that’s what I have been told.

GM coordinators have been quite nice to work with but the lack of transparency has been most frustrating part of this process. Perhaps, going with a lemon lawyer is a smoother, more transparent process. If anyone is working w/ a lemon lawyer, I would be interested in their experience.

Hope this helps.

So what should I be prepared to pay for BOLT EUV premier and LT?

A mark up unless you can find it at sticker lol.

I just reached out to a lemon law lawyer per the advice on this forum, and they said it’s the opposite of the advice given. I need to contact the dealer or GM before contacting them. :man_shrugging:t2:

I wonder if I should reach out to one at this juncture since I don’t know what the benefits of them getting involved would be. I only put on 16k miles in 2.5 yrs due to covid lockdown and also had to keep my car outside the entire time. My lease was for 3yr /36k

I put my VIN number in and it only says that my bolt has been recalled, but at the bottom “status: incomplete, remedy not available” and asked me to enter some contact info for updates. I put my email. I should expect someone to contact me now?

Yes, that should do.
In the next week or two, GM will reach out and get additional info from you.
I think I sent over registration, driver license, the original lease contract and photos of the vehicle, including odometer.

…Thanks for your help! I have even more questions, sorry. :grimacing: Did they offer to do a buyback or repurchase right from the start? I thought they were wanting to only do battery replacements. Did you have to push them to get the repurchase option? Since mine was a “1 pay lease”, what options do I really have? Finally, did you tell them you were having any problems with the car/battery?

Yes you can do either from the start.

This is an option as well. If the battery arrives before the replacement vehicle, the battery replacement takes priority (not likely due to parts shortage).

You can just say your vehicle is under recall to start the process and you want to explore your repair/replacement options.

Has anyone who assumed a lease completed a swap? I contacted them in march for a buyback but it was a terrible offer ($700ish for a car with a year left on lease and less than half the miles driven) so I bailed. Now that the battery still hasn’t been fixed and I am a few months from lease end and needing a car considering seeing what this would look like. Wondering if it has worked out well for people, also how do lease terms get negotiated?

Is there any reason to pick an in-stock unit now? Besides needing a car for couple of months.

I have an order in hoping for a January delivery. There might be a $3750 or $7500 additional incentive then what’s on the table. There might not be but even if it isn’t there the car is still a great deal.

I ll see if I can get some discount, should be hood for short term rental.
