The one and only!
Thanks. I’m just going to do it and see what happens. Should I go for the white or blacked out?
I’m just wondering how these vehicles go above msrp in auctions?
Getting a Tesla is absolutely not a great financial decision, but you won’t regret your purchase. I’ve had my model 3 for almost 3 years and absolutely love it. I could have gotten some amazing lease deals thanks to this forum on other cars, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Over 3 years I’ve spent a total of $0 on maintenance and thanks to my time of use electricity plan, I spend around $5 for a full 300+ mile charge. That doesn’t make up for my outrageous $800/month finance cost, but I can imagine I’ll be driving it for many years to come. I’m looking forward to the new FSD software release. Been watching a lot of the beta FSD videos and it looks so awesome.
Which one is cheaper?
Tell us what you paid for it and what vroom will offer for it and we will tell you if it was a great financial decision or not. Anyway, new cars are not great financial decisions, right ??? Except for the free Bolt…
lol. I don’t plan no selling it any time soon so what it’s worth now is meaningless. All I know is paying $60,000+ for a new car is a terrible financial decision. I did however get 7500 federal tax refund and 2500 state rebate, plus a few hundred dollars from my electric company, so overall I don’t think it was too bad. But yea, like you said, compared to a free or cheap bolt or many of these ridiculously cheap leases, it’s not going to be comparable even if I have to pay maintenance and gas.
Black used to be the free color, but now white is the free color. I like the white a lot and actually two of my family members have white model 3s and model Ys and they look great. Only concern about the white is there are many reports where the white paint around the car doesn’t match perfectly with the white on the bumper. Just make sure if you get white, don’t take delivery at night. Make sure you look very closely at the color.
Think he should get a free quote just for the kicks…I would predict not less than $28,000 if not more, if he sells it now-he will end up having a FREE Tesla “lease” for the last 3 years…beats a FREE Bolt lease for sure
White costs one grand less
probably because of the taxes and fees paid
I don’t mean to hijack the thread, but I am also thinking about making the jump to a Tesla Model Y. I live in NY so I am eligible for the $2k point of sale rebate (that acts as CCR) and I am also eligible for a $5k rebate from my Company for going with an EV. I get reimbursed by my Company to use my personal vehicle for business purposes and get approximately $470/month plus $17 cents per business mile.
I think the $5k from my Company makes the Model Y lease a lot more desirable. Thoughts?
Thanks for the advice on the white color. I forgot to mention that I get free electricity in my garage from my HOA so I’ll probably save a lot in gas and electric by getting a Tesla.
Why not something with arguably more build quality and comfort like an ETron?
The $5k Company incentive drops to $1500 for any vehicle with a base MSRP of over $50k, so the Model Y fits perfectly in there. I do not believe there are any comparable SUV style EV’s under $50k base MSRP?
That’s awesome! I wouldn’t be surprised if that benefit goes away as more people get electric cars, but I would definitely take advantage of that! Depending on how much you drive that could say you a bunch of money.
White it is…
Etron owner here - buying the etron is a BAD financial decision … Very bad. Throwing money out the window bad…
But the next buyer will also pay taxes and fees, plus dealer profit.
