With a 222 mile battery, it’s a bad all around decision unless you always drive in warm weather and never have a commute over 100 miles each way. Also you don’t have the supercharging infrastructure that Tesla has.
And I don’t think an e tron gets a Cvrp rebate of 2k or 4,500
No - there is an MSRP cap for CVRP
And with a 3 year residual of 50% from AudiFS but more like 40% in real life, buying an etron is like setting money on fire
Ignore all the Tesla haters in here. Model Y is fantastic value for $50k. That being said, you are in a lease hacking forum, where teslas don’t do well, so you’re gonna get some hate.
One thing I don’t think anyone has touched on is the residual value. As an owner of two model 3s, I can tell you resale value is VERY strong. But don’t expect to make $55k after one year. You’ll see list prices around 50k or higher, but they don’t sell. Why would anyone pay a markup when you can get a new one for less? I think you’d be lucky to get 45k after one year. Which is still strong IMO (still almost 90% residual)
There is a list of eligible CVRP vehicle and the E Tron isn’t on it.
You should see the Manheim MMR comps for the 2020 Model Y right now around 54-56 grand.
It is not on it because e-Tron exceeds the MSRP cap. Sorry that wasn’t clear.
Mach E is much better than the Model Y. I think the model Y looks quite similar to a CrV and RAV4.
More quality, yes…comfort, no…or maybe mu ass is not pretentious enough? Seriously, I thought the Y was more comfy than the Etron. If you wanna give another prop to Etron i would go with exterior design…very nicely done by Audi!
I mean you can be blissfully ignorant and hope that people will pay $55k for a high volume car after a year. But also consider that volume will be even higher after another 12 months. Those values won’t hold.
I mentioned an Etron to imply leasing one. Didn’t realize that needed to be said out loud on this forum.
On the other side of things, the range on the Etron is garbage and there’s no supercharging stations for it so forget about driving more than 200 miles round trip (possibly less in cold weather) without a hotel stay. To me that makes the car nearly useless. Forget about driving from San Diego to LA and back. Also I prefer the tech and the interior design on the model 3/Y.
I hear you. To me that increased range is useless. If i can save $100 on the monthly and give up 100 miles i do it every time. That’s the beauty of it, we each have different needs.
This is not true at all. There are plenty of Electrify America stations around SoCal that can pull up to 100+ kWH.
Ditto on that.
I recently had a road trip from OC to SD, no range anxiety, EA has good network of chargers (150 kWh).
I third this. To say you can’t road trip in the E Tron is very near sighted. EA chargers work fine and are widely available as are other fast chargers.
Glad to hear EA is actually creating a good network of fast chargers. Still I wouldn’t want to worry about charging if I’m just driving from SD to LA and back. Of course everyone has their own use cases, but for me even the 300+ miles on the Tesla is sometimes a little low. 200 is not even a consideration for me.
No brainer then.
Well all said and done I made $13,500 on this car after driving it for 8 months. A dealer paid 63.5k for it.
