2021 CLA45 Lease Deal Check

My friend is looking at a custom build of a 2021 CLA45, and the dealer has included $500 off in the agreed value (note top row in the picture attached) but I feel like this is an extremely terrible deal. I can’t tell what’s causing the inflation but paying 41k over 39 months for a 64k car is absurd. Any input on what I can focus on lowering would be great.

What is the MSRP of the car? Also, did they give you a Money Factor?

It’s written in as 3.792% - 0.00158.

What is buy rate here?

The only info that the dealer gave him is what’s on that paper. I’m guessing the 3.792% is the buy rate?
The MSRP before the “agreed value” is $63780

Exactly I think that’s what the dealer wrote there

One should never assume that the dealer is giving buy rate. You need to independently verify the proper value so that you have a comparison point.

Having current, accurate information for residual value, money factor, and incentives is important in understanding your deal. As such, going directly to a source that has access to that data from the captive banks is your best option. The forums at Edmunds are where we go to get that information, as they have direct access to it from the captive banks. You’ll want to post of the model specific thread for the vehicle you’re interested in and request the most current numbers for your zip code. It is often easiest to find that thread by searching Google for “Edmunds lease” followed by the model of vehicle you’re interested in.

It seems that amgs in general have terrible leasing minus the c43

I’ll take a look, thank you

I will crush this like a tin can.

That’s DEFINITLY not buyrate LOL.

@Ashleigh can get him/her an M4 for cheaper if AWD is not a must.

Edit: Oops this was supposed to be a PM.

That’s kind of exactly what I was thinking, even an M3 comp would be cheaper. It’s 100 more HP too.

Added a down payment to get it to the same drive-off, to compare, and it’s about $75 a month less. It’s still less even with minimal drive-offs.

@mllcb42 the MF is marked up 50 basis points

Terrible! Looks like the OP is a Mercedes fan! Going to get him buy rate and a good discount! If he also wants a M4 we won’t be beat!

So $500 discount with $1500 in mf mark up. Gotta love those discounted cars that end up over sticker.

@mllcb42 CLA45 is a limited inventory model however not worth sticker sale price. 6-8% makes more sense with buy rate.

Pretty sure you could get into an M340i for somewhere in the ballpark of half of this. It’s about equally fast, has the exact same amount of horsepower, but starts with a RWD platform and sings with an inline-6 instead of a transverse-4.

Hey guys, I’m the friend looking to get the CLA45. Here’s some updated info:

Current RV: 52%
Current Buy Rate: 2.592%

Quoted RV: 52%
Quoted Buy Rate: 3.792%

The dealer can’t manipulate the rv, so if you’re seeing a disparity there, it’s either incorrect information or they’re using a different bank than the captive.
