2021 Audi E-Tron $530 - 12,000 / 36 months

,

Used the 110v outlet probably for 3 months, its functional in that you get maybe 4 miles of charge per hour? So if you have a short commute each day, you’ll get by but with the ~230 miles on a full charge on the 2021s, it definitely gives you miles anxiety after a long trip but I have a 2019 so its more like 209 haha. Rather than waiting 2-3 days on a full charge, I can get it in 8-10 hours. It will be more beneficial post covid.

Beautiful car and congrats. Did you compare this car against the Q5e?

I’m in a rental until August while building a house. Trying to work out if it’s a livable temp solution. Probably is.

Don’t forget you get free electrify america credit, the park assist feature is great but the engine artificial sound still reminds me of a space ship lol

This is very true, my wife likes to tell me that I’m speeding more than usual now. The car is so smooth at 80+ mph, you feel like you are going 50s.

I say 25-27k. Max 32k but I doubt it.

lol OP you are hilarious, and blindfold deals can be fun too, hope the car has been a pleasant surprise other than anything for you.

I wish the TX EV rebates weren’t dead, for whatever reason FY21 has ended. $2500 could really sweeten the deal and potentially make sub $400 E-Tron deals in TX (also 12k vs 7.5k which seems to be most of those smoking deals in NorCal).

I drove both and had a regular Q5 as a loaner, the Tron is simply a better car.

In order to capture that one you would have to do premier purchase, and you would have to go after the $7500 federal credit on your own rather than receiving it up front, additionally.

Getting the lender tax credit more than makes up for not having the Texas rebate.

Or getting the lender tax credit and the tax rebate  Like I did last year haha.

@FuzzyIBJ there will be an update around June to see if the grant will be funded again.

What price point should I be at outside of state like NJ/CA? I’m in Louisville, Kentucky but close enough to bigger markets like Indy, Cincy, Nashville, and if necessary Atlanta/Chicago.

I have Costco and can max out MSD’s would like 24/10.

lol!
Salesperson pulled the car into the driveway. I didn’t even bother test driving it. Invited him in, signed the papers.
When the SO came home, we drove it around the neighborhood.
Drove it into town today. ~40 mile round trip on the highway.

Thoughts:

  • Car is extremely quiet in terms of road and wind noise.
  • Plenty of torque but I do feel a millisecond delay before it takes off. I need to keep driving it and get used to that. I have it in dynamic mode. It’s definitely not lightweight/zippy. it is 5700lbs lol.
  • Lack of idle crawl takes some getting used to.
  • Regenerative braking also takes some getting used to. Feels similar to engine braking.
  • handling is SUPERB for a crossover/suv. It’s tight and controlled. Felt confident “weaving” through traffic. This is coming from someone who’s owned a few Porsches.
  • i do wish the range was ~250-275. seeing 150 after 1 trip makes me a little anxious but it’s a habit change on my end. i just need to get used to charging at the end of day like I do with my phone. waiting for 240v outlet.

For 5,700lb car, it still gets a nice boost  and the smoothness can’t be beat. Make sure to put the regen on automatic, that way everytime you hit accelerate/brake, it resets the regen. I find myself using the paddle all the time.

Once that 240v is installed, it will be great. My wife just commented that it was at 130 today and within a few hours it was full again

Where this car really shines assuming you have well spaced DC fast chargers is on road trips. 20-30 mins on the plug gets you to the next stop.

Is Premier Purchase basically a balloon like BMW Owner’s Choice? But I think Audi FS passes tax credit on most of there EVs and plug-ins unlike BMW so it may not worth the hassle.
