2021 Acura TLX Type S Goes On Sale Tomorrow

Just saw them posted for the first time on Edmunds.

.00160 and 56% - everywhere.

The S4 and C43 are obvious competitors. The M340i is probably considered as the best of the 3 by most and leased relatively well (up until recent months, at least). Seems like July’s numbers are the same MF (0.00093) and residual (58% for 36/10k), but lease cash dropped to $1,000 and only $500 for loyalty. Just depends on what kind of deals are possible for each. For similar money, you can’t go wrong with any of them. That’s my point here: TLX Type S payments in the same ball park as these 3 is a laugh.

Many dealers are indeed asking for $5k-10k ADM, even $15k. There is one on a lot for $74k. For a TLX. Even AcuraZine users are saying over $60k is ridiculous.

Yikes.

The long and the short of it appears to be that a 50-55k Acura leases worse than a 60-65k German rival while at the same time being compromised by weird trunk cross bracing and a dated infotainment system.

It’s a brand new trim level compared to models that have been around for quite a while. Revist pricing in a few months.

I have seen on @Ashleigh page she mentioned loyalty has disappeared

“all but disappeared”

Seems to be only $500 on the M340i. 2021 BMW 3-Series Lease Deals and Prices - Page 29 — Car Forums at Edmunds.com
Not sure where this information is sourced, but it seems trustworthy.
For MY21: $1,000 lease credit on all 3 series trims, but loyalty is $500 for M340i, $1,000 for 330, and $2,000 for 330e.
For MY22: nothing except $500 loyalty on all trims.

I calculated the lease on a basically base with color option Type S. At sticker, the payment was around $850’s with NJ taxes and a ~$2k drive off.

Seriously, in what world does anything from Acura justify that payment?

I personally think the Type S is a sub $550/mo car. Below that, I can see the value. Above that, I don’t know why you wouldn’t get a nicer German alternative. At $850, you might as well get an M3 - or a 330 M Sport and an X3.

850 is possibly a base m550 with msds :joy:

Probably. I have a loaded ~$75k sticker 540 for $499 with $3600 DAS + MSD. So, $600/mo effective + MSD. A base M550 was only a little bit more - maybe $75/mo. This was July 2019 tho. Times are different now.

Some cars just don’t lease well and just aren’t meant to, we all know that. If you really must lease (most of us here), then get a TLX SH-AWD A-Spec, otherwise go S4 or M340i as others have said.

Some manufacturers would prefer that you buy their cars.

Are you saying this car is worth the 54k sticker to buy?

IDK how you got there from “Some manufacturers would prefer that you buy their cars.“ It’s simply an answer to variations of the same recurring question “why doesn’t this car have more incentives and/or better lease programs?”

I personally don’t have enough interest in the car to study its value prop.

It also just came out in the middle of craziest car value time. Some patience would help. Spring to summer 2022 this should be normal.

All depends on units manufactured. Really hoping they put lots of these on the road instead of being another civic type r experience where they keep those 35k cars locked at dealerships thinking it’s the hottest shit known to mankind.

I do agree if this isn’t cheaper than a S4, I also would rather get S4 if it’s same payment.

I’d rather get an S6 if I were paying $750 to $800/month.

I’m new. But is there a chance u might be able to get a deal cuz they’re a 2021 and most companies are putting out 2022 already? Not saying now but in the near future

Unless Acura has its 2022s out and decides to add residual support to the outgoing 2021 to support the newfound decline in RV, plus has enough supply out there, what you’re saying is irrelevant.

The car in question hasn’t even been on the market for 2 weeks yet.
