2020 Jeep JLU Willys $334

First I want to say Thank You to everyone on the board who provides insight and advice!

I initially was working on a 2019 JLU Sport S that the dealer had $10K off MSRP, but the residual of 63% on 2019 made going for a 2020 with a higher cap cost but 75% residual a better deal.

I went to the dealer a couple weeks ago (after emailing) after initially telling me they wouldn’t lease the 2019 with 10k off they decided to work a deal up. I ended up walking when the numbers weren’t what I liked and they wanted my trade that I wanted to keep at their low ball offer.

The sales person was actually very upfront and honest without a bunch of BS, he knew I didn’t need the Jeep and was just looking for a deal. We agreed to stay in touch and if they needed a unit sold or had a deal he would get in touch.

Fast forward to this Wednesday and my daughter is turning 16 in a few days and I decided to reach out to my sales guy on a 2020 Willys they have had in inventory for a couple months. I sent a text asking what was the best price he could get me and I didn’t need the other BS just sale price no trade I know residual and MF. He responded he could probably get me 5-6k off but give him a couple hours to grind the sales manager. A couple hours later he texted he tried for 6k and they wouldn’t budge so he got me 5k off MSRP (12%).

We had agreed on sale price of 37,675 on a MSRP of 42,675… when they worked the deal up that I signed it shows agreed price of 39,175 but shows a cap cost reduction of 2k which includes a 1500 non cash credit. I can’t get the calculator to match exactly but it’s within $3.

Deal seems solid. However you really only got a 8% dealer discount since the other $1500 came from a rebate. 12% dealer discount would of been nice and made your deal better. Enjoy your new Jeep!

Do you mind me asking which dealership you went to? I’m from CA too, having a hard time finding 2020 Willy’s and I’m sick of the dealers in my area playing games.
