2020 Audi Q7 Premium 55 TFSI

2020 Audi Q7 Premium 55 TFSI
Invoice including options between 61,480 - 62,373
Price offer is 63,423$

how am I doing?

2 grand over invoice looks pretty bad, but more importantly, you’re missing all of the critical information you need. Take a step back and go through the leasing 101 information so that you have a solid foundation of what goes into a lease to start with.

is costco,edmunds invoice accurate,
costco invoice is 61,480
edmunds invoice is 62,373

Audi has no holdback , it that the case

Well, at least one is wrong if they don’t match

well the first step in 101 is to negotiate a purchase price, well beyond MSRP

You’ve got a lot of information to gather and put together before you ever darken a dealer’s door to negotiate a price.

yes, but as a first step I need to know the average discount off the MSRP that I should be targetting

Absolutely. Look through deals here and broker ads to help you put that together. The actual invoice amount is pretty much irrelevant to that.

I see what you are saying, but I see if the dealer is able to go below invoice if its model year closing time like now , dealer discount. and I don’t consider it squeezing it . because even below the invoice price there is profit to be made

thanks I will check the deals page

The point is to base your price off what is doable, rather than a number like invoice. Generally that doable price is going to be a good bit under invoice, but knowing what invoice actually is doesn’t really help you much.

ok I see your point.
now I am trying to negotiate an audi q7 premium 55 TFSI and I am getting only 4.2% below MSRP which I am not so excited about.
I am looking to negotiate the selling price at least 11-12% below

Audi 10% preincentive and buy rate on MF is a good price. Anything beyond that will require significant time and effort or possibly a broker whom has done that leg work.

Also looks like nothing but 1k loyalty on this.

yup, no rebates or anything

do you mean, negotiating the price to 10% below MSRP

Yes correct. 10% below MSRP before any incentives and a buy rate on the money factor then you did well.

@carbuy

You have put in some work, keeping grind out the information you need to strike a great deal. You are getting there. Based on the discussion here (and some assumptions on my part, adjust them as needed) Pencil out a negotiation model like this - consider this a work-in-progress as you fine tune it to your situation.

I even reflected the invoice info you tend to favor - and as you can see hackrs are guiding you to a price target well below. Invoice is at best an interesting data point to have in your head while you negotiate - it won’t be any indication of a great deal.
