I love my 2019 330i so much! The interior is an upgrade over the old bmw interior style IMO. Everyone who has seen my car loves it.
Compared my car to my coworker’s C class and much prefer my car, haven’t seen the A inside but I feel like it’s an easy decision unless OP is determined to have MB.
As others have said don’t let the dealer scare you into buying stuff. I think maintenance is residuals on MB so that being said it could be an ok deal at the right price.
@LeaserOC - Thank you for your advice. One thing that really scares me is knowing I didn’t get low-balled on a Lease deal. How do I know that the deal i’m getting is actually a really good one? I heard that as long as you pay 1% of the MSRP on a monthly basis then it’s a really good deal?
After debating between the 2 cars, I really don’t have a set car in mind. At this point whatever deal I get around my budget pretty much.
@212hackr What do you look for? Where do you for? It’s easy to come and ask this forum. But I would like be able to determine the deal myself or try to lol.
The problem with the 1% rule is that some cars (such as Volvos) are way overpriced in the first place. They offer huge rebates which lower the lease cost, but you are still paying too much for what you are getting. Cars from Honda and Toyota are not so overpriced in the first place, so you have to pay a higher percentage of the MSRP to lease one, but you are still getting a better deal and lower price in the end.
BMW seems to be offering the most bang for the buck for “luxury” cars right now, especially if you take advantage of the OL code and BMW CCA rebate.
I follow this forum, bimmerfest, edmunds, etc etc… I look at the manufacturer’s website to see their standard deals, just as a reference point and curiosity - I don’t look at one piece of information in a silo, look at it as a whole.
My lease doesn’t end for 6 months, I’m already highly active here watching. I know since I’ll be looking in December, it’ll be a 19 MY I’ll score my deal on, I know the new X5 came out in 18 with a MY of 2019, and the GLE (my current car) has a redesigned MY 2020, so I’ll prob have to switch brands to score, as I doubt MB will be nearly as aggressive with their 20s as BMW with their 19s in December. I also already have a BMW OL event on my radar at Citifield in November. I’m basically a guy who writes every dealer until I find one that needs to move one just to put a unit on the board.
I have my eyes on the Q8 also, but Audi isn’t pushing them hard. Might be able (I’ll certainly try) to hack one (debatable) in December when the 20s are all over the lots. Being a brand new car, even with a similar MSRP as the X5, I’m confident that the deals won’t really be comparable. So while the Q8 might have an MSRP of $73k & the X5 might be around $68-$70k, the numbers will prob be much different. My goals are the X5 under $500 and the Q8 prob under $650, both would be excellent hacks imo, but the Q8, even at $650, might be the better hack. I know the discounts & MF I need to get there. Although, as I mentioned, I marry the deal, not the car, so I’d prob lean X5 in that situation.
It’s a combination of research, knowledge, & common sense to know what’s a good deal per brand and where to look for it.
Hahahah, I’ll tell you even at 255hp crank rated it sure feels like every bit of it at the wheels. I swear they’re underrating these engines. Throw in a JB+/JB4 and you’re cookin’!
Not to be a total girl but the thing that shocked me most in the comparison Dave posted between the A220 and 330i is the diff in cargo space. Is that A class really that teeny?!
@Electric yesthey are underrated. This has been proven many times on many different BMW models. 255hp on the 330i feels more like 280+ if you ask me. This is probably due to perfect 50/50 weight distribution and a rear-wheel drive powerhouse.
Did I forget to mention that the A220 is a FWD car?
@beyondthevalley that’s what the specs pulled up online. I’m sure that @Calvin.MB can correct if I’m mistaken. I’m curious though…how did the teenie cargo space stand out to you more than the nearly 2 second difference in 0-60 time?
@DjMx drop the wear/tear on my deal and you’re at $399 with the same out of pocket as the MB. You still get no cost maintenance for 3/36. And most of all, drive the freakin car! How can you know what a good deal is without knowing what you’re paying for. “Value” cannot be determined by numbers on paper. Again, I’m back on Wednesday.
